What color is the wire for the subwoofer on the Kenwood KDC-400U

The sub-woofer isn't connected to the wiring harness of the KDC-400U. It has to be wired separately. Then the sub-woofer input gets connected to the KDC-400U sub-woofer out using R/L audio wires as show on page 13 of the Quick Start Guide. The direct link to the Quick Start Guide is http://manual.kenwood.com/files/4fd9a24acb9fa.pdf . You may be able to use the wiring information on pages 12-13 to help you determine which wires aren't going to the sub-woofer.

Most Kenwood Car audio manuals are available here: http://manual.kenwood.com/en_contents/search/ .

I wish that I could give you more information.

Can you replace a stock amp with a after market amp without rewiring speaker 2001 sort track

What kind of vehicle? and yes you can ive done this on a few german cars. If your not up to snooping the web for factory diagrams I recommend going to the speakers directly which may require popping door panels off etc... for multiple reasons 1 to label the wire colors to match them at the amp so I can draw a diagram on a piece of paper 2 check the condition of the speaker for tears wear etc....3 to mark any labeling on the back of the speaker especially the impedance values this is super important in wiring on a aftermarket 2 channel amp heres a link to help : http://www.ehow.com/how_6312803_wire-four-speakers-2_channel-amp.html . Once youve jotted down all speaker wiring colors and connected to the amp I would recommend running your own 12v power from the battery and ignition power and ground wires make sure to cap off factory power wires... good luck

Wiring/sub-woofer not putting out!!

The remote wire from your head unit should be blue and there should be a wire that connects that to your amp. Make sure it is hooked up. Also, if you are using the high in put wiring up above, it shouldn't be mixed with your RCA. That wiring diagram is not needed for the subs. You should also check the gauge on you power wire that runs from the battery to the amp. If it is 4 or less it should be good if it is Copper Clad aluminum (CCA) it will put out power similar to 8 gauge copper wire. Most of the time the problem with the low output of subs is the amp wiring kit. You could have great subs and a great amp, but if the wire isn't any good it can sound like ****. Just FYI in case you weren't familiar with any of that. Always try to get pure copper wire when it comes to the power cable. You can google information about it. If you're wiring there is fine. Again, check the remote wires. Also check to see you have your amp levels turned up as well. As for the violet and violet/white. Those are referring to you speakers in your vehicle. Not your subs.

I unpluged my amp from my car and i forgot where all the wires went i need help to hook back up right

There should be a group of screw terminals. They should say pos or (+), remote, and ground, GND, or (-). This is the power terminal. The power from the battery goes to the (+), the remote turn one (thin wire) goes to the one labeled remote (usually inbetween the ground and power wires), and the ground to the (-). RCA jacks should be labeled input and output. Plug the appropriate colors in the input ones. The speaker terminals are labeled left and right + and -. If it is a 4 channel amp, it will also have front and rear. Depending how you wired your speakers is how they will go to the amp. Follow the speaker wires to the appropriate prongs positive or negative. Hope this helps.

How do i set the rca settings for my kenwood kdc-217

Theres no way to change the rca settings. More than likely they put out 2 volts which is more common. Some newer more expensive models put out 4. What size remote wire you using? Try using a bigger (smaller #) gauge wire. That will give it a boost if your using the one that came with an amp kit. What kind of speakers? What kind of amp? If amp is mutli channel and only one sub then you will need to bridge the amp. Try different combos of + and - to see which gives the best. Also make sure everything is turned up on the amp and set to low pass frequency.
