HP PSC 1110 all-in-one does not scan with windows vistas. I do not want to use ms paint is there any other soluion

I had this problem. If you like my solution please consider making a small contribution (e.g. 1$) to a charity of your choice.
For use on Windows Vista
Launch "Windows Photo Gallery", click on file and select "Import from camera or scanner". If your scanner is connected and powered up, your device(e.g Hp psc 1110) should be displayed in the "Scanners and Camera" section. Double click on your scanner in this window. A dialog box should be displayed. It will allow you to set scan characteristics and preview your scan. happy scanning !!
As far as i know "HP Director" has been replaced on Vista with the method described above.

Yes , You can use Microsoft office Documnet Scanning/Imaging services it is available under Microsoft office tools if Microsoft Office with tools in Full is Installed on your PC.

I've double checked the electrical and USB connections; also the Lock Switch. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the scangear toolbox. When I try to run the copy or fax function, I get the following error messages: (1) "Unable to open TWAIN source Please check connection Then re-start Toolbox" (2) "Unlock the Lock Switch and turn the scanner on again. Scanner driver will be closed." I've tried everything I can think of but I'm not technologically savvy.

With my HP Deskjet 4100 I am able to scan thru my laptop but when I try to scan to desktop that is networked with laptop thru wired router will not let me scan. If I connect 4100 directly to desktop will let me scan. How can I get it so both computers are able to use scanner without having to disconnect and move the scanner. Both computers print fine to the 4100
