When the gas cooktop power souce is plugged in the ignitors continually click. I have removed all of the burners and cleaned them, dried them thoroughly with a hair dryer before reassembling. When the unit is plugged back in it still ignites all four burners.

I just solved the continuous sparking in my gas burner. I removed the control knobs and the rubber below those knobs. Gave the rubber and the area below it a good clean using kitchen and bath cleaning wipes that I bought from Coles. The key is to remove the water and grease from the rubber and the area below it. Keep the air holes around the burners free of debris and grease by clearing out the holes with a thin piece of wire or a toothpick. Cleaning out the holes helps the ignitor light the cooktop

Listen for the clicking sound of the ignitor, then turn off the burner if you don't hear the clicking.

Turn the burner to the "Off" position, if you continue to hear the ignitor tick after you've lit the burner. Turn the burner back on to relight it. Ignitors normally make a brief series of electrical clicking sounds when you turn on the ignitors.

Let the ceramic igniter dry out if it has gotten wet and the burner won't ignite. If the igniter isn't wet, clear out the little holes in the burner by chipping out any blockage with a straightened paper clip.

Clean the electrodes if the burners still don't light. The electrode is in the burner base. Clean the metal part with a soft cloth. You can use emery board on the metal part but not the white ceramic part.

Electric gas igniters sometimes get stuck in one position causing a clicking sound. The clicking sound that you hear is the electric arc that is pulsing from the igniter conductor (wire) to ground (the gas burner). It receives power from the electrical outlet that the stove is plugged into.
Residue from food and sometimes cleaning products may be preventing the igniter from producing a spark (Arc) to the base of the burner. This is a common problem that occurs when the stove has been cleaned or food is allowed to build up. Make sure that the igniter and the burner base are clean and dry. This will help with proper operation. Oven cleaner and a small tooth brush may be used to accomplish this. Another problem with ignition may occur if you have too little (touching) or too much space between the igniter and the base of the burner; it will prevent the burner from igniting. You should only have a little more space than the thickness of a nickel between the burner base and the igniter. A good “blue” arc from the igniter to the burner base is optimal. If this doesn’t work, you may need to replace the electric igniter module. Good luck.

Turn your gas valve on, but leave your unit unplugged for a few days. You can light your burners in the meantime with a lighter so you can cook. Usually this problem is caused by moisture getting into one of your ignitor switches which are under your burner knobs. Most of the time the switch dries out and you can plug your unit back in after a few days. If it still keeps firing then you will have to replace one or more of your ignitor switches. Usually a very difficult job as most gas cooktops are now sealed burner units which means the top of your cooktop is bolted down to the burners with several screws or nuts that heat up with usage and become almost impossible to remove, without having to drill out the screws, or chiseling off the nuts. Be careful of boilovers or cleaning around the knobs with too much water to prevent this from happening again. Also get a surge protector at least 2000 joules or higher to prevent damage to you spark module. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

It seems like you got water into the ignitor switches on under the knobs. Sometimes it takes 48 hours for this to dry out. Or you can pull the knobs and use a hair dryer on to dry out the switches. I had a similar problem and discovered that the control knob had fried itself, most likely due to liquid penetration down the shaft of the control knob and into the control knob electronics. Inside is a printed circuit board with resistor, diode and a rheostat. The surface of the board was charred beyond repair.
To trouble shoot the problem, open the cook top and hook the burner in question to one of the known good control knobs. If it ignites, then it is the control knob electronics. If it doesn’t, then there is something wrong with the igniter.
Note: The 2-zone Wok Burner had a different control knob that the other burners.
To open the cook top, do NOT loosen any of the Phillips screws on the sides. Here are the instructions from the user manual:
Disassembly
Shut off gas supply, disconnect the manifold pipe, disconnect the electrical power. Remove pan supports, burner heads and burner rings. Remove control knobs.
In the event that the hob is built in, undo the bracket clamps underneath the work surface. Lift the hob on to the work surface. Unscrew the venturis on the high-speed and super high-speed burners using a 20 mm wrench. Lift and remove the burner rings and burner base plates. Disconnect the wires from the ignition plugs. Keep the wire from dropping into the undertray by inserting it in one of the slots in the burner supports.
Remove the three screws securing the dual ring wok burner. Remove the wok burner base plate. Lift the ceramic tray from the hob.
Note: Each regulator shaft is equipped with a black ring. This ring may cling to the rubber seal in the ceramic tray. Check and remove the rings from the rubber seals.

We called in an appliance repair technician. He said during the cleaning process of the cooktop, when the control knobs had been removed to thoroughly clean the cooktop, some cleaning fluid or water or moisture got into the ignition switch panel under the cooktop. Letting it dry for 24 hours should fix the problem and this appears to have done that.

try unplugging the unit over night, itspossible that by you cleaning the tops, the electrodes got wet, falsley sparkin, when the water dries out it should stop, and no not dangerous in any way, only annoying to listen to

the igniter switch are stuck /need clean contactor of the igniter .
