Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Explain bar codes

A bar code (often seen as a single word, barcode) is the small image of lines (bars) and spaces that is affixed to retail store items, identification cards, and postal mail to identify a particular product number, person, or location. The code uses a sequence of vertical bars and spaces to represent numbers and other symbols. A bar code symbol typically consists of five parts: a quiet zone, a start character, data characters (including an optional check character), a stop character, and another quiet zone.
A BarCode Readeris used to read the code. The reader uses a laser beam that is sensitive to the reflections from the line and space thickness and variation. The reader translates the reflected light into digital data that is transferred to a computer for immediate action or storage. Bar codes and readers are most often seen in supermarkets and retail stores, but a large number of different uses have been found for them. They are also used to take inventory in retail stores; to check out books from a library; to track manufacturing and shipping movement; to sign in on a job; to identify hospital patients; and to tabulate the results of direct mail marketing returns. Very small bar codes have been used to tag honey bees used in research. Readers may be attached to a computer (as they often are in retail store settings) or separate and portable, in which case they store the data they read until it can be fed into a computer.
There is no one standard bar code; instead, there are several different bar code standards called symbologies that serve different uses, industries, or geographic needs. Since 1973, the Uniform Product Code (UPC), regulated by the Uniform Code Council, an industry organization, has provided a standard bar code used by most retail stores. The European Article Numbering system (EAN), developed by Joe Woodland, the inventor of the first bar code system, allows for an extra pair of digits and is becoming widely used. POSTNET is the standard bar code used in the United States for ZIP codes in bulk mailing. The following table summarizes the most common bar code standards.

What these leads actually use for?

The one in the top of the view is called a SCART connector and has been the standard in Europe before High Definition came out. It transfers Composite and S-Video, as well as the stereo audio channels.
The one at the bottom is an S-Video connector, which is a fairly low quality analog video connection.
It looks like this is one cable. If so, you would use this to connect a DVD player (S-Video) to an older European model TV (SCART).

How do I copy an event onto a flash drive or DVD

Push menu...Archive setup....put a usb flash drive in port on dvr.....turn archive enable(on)-will say wait then turn to on...set date, time, cammera/channel, you want to save to flash drive...(Make sure you have this info all found before you get to this) ....Archive unit, set 1,2 or 3 mb the size you want saved(3 is the highest).... Skip Archive format(leave off)...select archive start-(in just a second it will say back up done).........It will download the video segment you chose and a copy of the simple viewer.....double click the viewer and load on your computer, and use that to view the video.....very easy once you do it, hardest part is to get the video segment lined up with the date, time etc...so all the clip gets recorded at the same time......Hope this helps...

very likely missing the codec files necessary for DVD. theses files come with the DVD player software. If it worked ok before, first try using system restore and select a date when it once worked. If it never worked, then try re-installing the software.
