Nothing yet...more advice? Where in the menu does it show internal speakers?

  • goodrich_lyn May 04, 2010

    Nothing yet...

  • goodrich_lyn May 04, 2010

    It is LG 32LG30.

  • goodrich_lyn May 04, 2010

Thanks, but I'm not having any luck getting sound on my tv yet.

  • goodrich_lyn May 04, 2010

I'm not finding that pane with my menu...what am I doing wrong?

  • goodrich_lyn May 04, 2010

    The menu I get has:

    Search for Shows
    Manage Autotunes
    Caller ID
    TV Mail
    Parental Faves and Set Up

(From Parental Faves and Set Up there are drop-down boxes to
    include Audio.)

    That menu looks like this:

    --Audio
    Language
    Sound Effects
    Dolby Digital

It shows Dolby is on, for what that's worth....

  • goodrich_lyn May 04, 2010

When I press Menu, nothing comes up looking like what you describe.

  • goodrich_lyn May 04, 2010

It's hooked up to a DirectTV Receiver, replaced yesterday because we thought that was the source of the problem.

The technician didin't have a clue beyond "issues with our tv."

  • goodrich_lyn May 04, 2010

Found the correct menu, did the prompts, shows ON.

    No sound.

  • goodrich_lyn May 04, 2010

    No positive outcome yet.

  • goodrich_lyn May 04, 2010

Like take the whole tv in?

Thanks for your help and patience!

  • goodrich_lyn May 04, 2010

Thanks for your patience...I learned a lot!

OK, still no sound that means sound output chip got fried in your tv main board and need to take in for fix. Contact local tv repair shop for an estimate of repair.
    Thanks.

I'm afraid, there is no way to fix hardware issues, no one can replace defective IC over internet.

Without getting too technical, it sounds like you may have an internal connection issue. Have you tried using external speakers with it? That might be ab easy fix.

Sound distortion has developed while listening to a DVD or using Skype

Because I do not know your particular computer in detail, I will answer generically.

Because of the complexity of design where the interaction between software drivers and the hardware are very inter-dependent, it is difficult to determine the fault directly. I would suggest to uninstall the sound card drivers using the device properties manager, re-start the computer, and let it re-install them. If they do not auto install, then do it manually using the respective installation source location.

You can also try downloading the sound drivers directly from the Acer site and re-installing them, or from the respective sound card (chipset) manufacture to see if this fixes the fault.

I am assuming you tried listing to the sound using several headsets or external speakers to test it. I know of cases where a person was complaining about distorted sound from their computer. It turned out to be the speakers were defective and not the computer.

I got multiple thin colors on the middle of the screen

My 3-year old 52-inch Toshiba flat panel TV (Model # 52RV53U, Serial # AM409000295) developed a display issue (purchased Aug. 2008, manufactured July 2008). Vertical multicolored lines appeared on the screen just left of center. The band of thin vertical bars is 5.5 inches wide. The lines are about 1/16-inch wide. They are stationary, always exactly in same place. They over-ride any other picture on the screen (no transparency). They are there all time even with no video inputs to the TV after the unit is turned on. See picture #1. The TV works well in every other respect, but, obviously, it is annoying to watch the picture with the color band blocking about 1/6 of the picture.

I already swapped out the TCON board with no improvement and replugged the TCON board cables with no improvement.

Most likely it is the flat panel tab bond failure (panel made by Samsung). Further updates will be on my Facebook page.

How to conect a PROSCAN MODEL 32LB30Q to a curtis DVD1098B

Buy an HDMI cable, plug one end to the Curtis DVD1098B's HDMI Output, and the other end plug into the TV's HDMI IN 1, or 2.
Using the remote control, and the assistance of the manufacturer's manual change the tv's input to HDMI 1, or 2 respectively.
Verify the input, and output of each device if you do not want to use HDMI, then using the same process connect the output of the DVD to the respective Input of the TV, i'm unsure of the TV's input but the television appears to support Component, RCA, and Coaxial.

Insignia T.V. 50" Model; NS-PDP50, Plasma T.V.

T.V. comes on, there is sound but no picture.
T.V. is les than 18 months old. We use the T.V. when we come to our Condo in Daytona Beach for vacation, so it hasn't been used very much.
