Question about Televison & Video

I have a Kenmark TV with DVD and cannot eject a DVD that has been playing. When selecting DVD via the source option a menu does not appear (as has done previously), the only words are DVD NTSA. Can you help please! Andy

Thanks for your advice. Have replaced batteries in remote but still the same problem. The message reads DVD NTSC. The other functions work ok, i.e. TV, iPod, Scart etc. The model number is 22LVD00D1. Andy

You need to open the unit after unplugging it.

I suspect the NTSA means no disc in unit. I then suspect you will find it jammed or not in position.

If you find this gently with something not sharp move it and see if the unit now works.

Let me know what you find after you get the cover off and examine it.

If the disc did not go all the way in and into the correct position the unit will think no disc is inside and not function.

I have a Proscan pledv2488a. There is a disk in the DVD player, but I cannot find a way to eject it. There appears to be no eject button on the remote. What can be done?

Do you have the original remote or a universal remote? On the original remote, the Eject button is also the Favorites (FAV) button. It's just below the Volume - section of the Volume toggle on the left side of the remote. The button has an upwards arrow above a line on it. You probably need to set the source to DVD for the Eject button to work properly. (If the source is TV, the button will add or delete the current channel to the Favorites list.) You can cycle through the input source options by pressing the Source button on the TV or the remote. On the TV, the Source button is between the Power and Menu buttons. On the remote, the Source button is on the right hand side above the Up arrow key.

The manual for the PLEDV2488A is available from Proscan at the manufacturer's site: http://www.proscanvideo.com/product/PLEDV2488A . Click on the Downloads tab. The direct link is http://legacy.curtisint.com/html/CustService/Manuals/PRO_PLEDV2488A_EN.pdf . Page 8 describes the remote buttons.

I hope this helps.

Unlock Region Code/Instructions - Request

Just spoke with Soniq's help line in Australia. They gave me the instructions below. I have not tried them yet as I have boxed up the TV already and I am moving out of the region. Good Luck.

Unlock instructions for Soniq L37V11B
  1. Turn on TV
  2. Set to DVD Mode
  3. Press Open/Eject
  4. Leave DVD door open
  5. Press 5168 on remote
  6. This should open a Factory Menu, scroll up/down to Region Settings
  7. Change Region to 0, press Enter
  8. Press Open/Eject on remote to close the DVD door.

I have the samsung LN52A550. When I turn the tv on a blue screen appears. I tried changing the source with the menu button but does not display anything. The TV is about 2 years old. The sound works. When...

Try this
Method one- with set on, hold down the exit button on the remote for 10 seconds. It will bring up the warning it will reset to the defaults it had when removed from the box and powered up initially. in the warning box it will show the cancel button highlighted initially. press the left arrow to select the reset option. You may end up doing this blind, so you may need to try it a couple times and the only indication of where you are is just a slight flash from part of the screen.
Once that left arrow has been pressed once, the reset option choice changes to "Ok" or "reset", press "enter" The set should
do it's thing to reset and then shutdown.,

Method 2
it should get you into the hotel settings, but you can reset to factory defaults from there, changing any other settings may limit access to the normal settings.
Shut the set off.

The while holding the mute, menu and info buttons, trun the set on while holding them down. If the functions portion of the board is working, it should bring up hotel options menu.

Hi, I have a Dynex flat screen and I want to play a video. I connected the RCA cables. What do I need to do?

Hi If you have connected the RCA cables corretly, that is, Yellow, Red, and White colured sockets of video source component, may be a VCR, DVD, Blu-Ray etc; to the respective colured sockets to the TV, just switch ON both the devices, insert a video casette, CD or DVD whatever it may be into the source player. Get into the Menu of TV, surf through; and come towards its Input option and select the input you want to get through it. Hilight that option and press enter button on the remote control. When the correct input have been selected you will see the video signals plays through your TV. OK.

you do not say if the tv has built in dvd if so a common problem is the disc in the wrong way round if you are using an external dvd and it is connected via a scart lead predd scart in the source menu.

from experience this problem is happening all the time, to turn your tv back to digital you need to go into source and change it to dtv
With regards to the dvd not playing you could try a default reset which is,
Change it to dvd and eject any dvds in the unit
Press the setup or dvd setup button on your remote (it will be either or)
You should have options for tv type, tv system and default,
select default then it will show up with either yes or no, or it will show reset make sure yes or reset is selected press ok then turn off the tv at the wall so there is no power
then try a dvd, may work, may not

Dvd player wont play

I found this on the PROSCAN website under customer support manuals. The website is www.oncorpus.com.I hope this information helps you with your problem. IMPORTANT THE LABEL SIDE OF THE DVD MUST FACE THE BACK SIDE OF THE TELEVISION 1. Press the ‘INPUT’ button to select ‘DVD’ mode, if no disc is inserted yet, the display shows ‘No Disc’.
2.Insert a DVD with the printed side facing towards the rear of the TV/DVD Player (see below)
3.The TV will first display ‘Loading’, then change to ‘DVD-video’. Most DVDs will show some preliminary
information then stop at a main menu screen.
4. Press PLAY/PAUSE to play it directly. Or press the DVD-MENU button to access the disc menu during
playback.
5.Use the direction button on the remote control to select the desired option. Press ENTER to select the
option or press the ► button. Playback will now commence.
6.After playback, press the EJECT button on remote control or EJECT button on TV/DVD to remove the
disc.
Note: No function‘’ will sometimes appear on the screen after a button is pressed. This indicates that the
function is not supported at the current time.
