Question about Canon MX300 Office All-In-One Printer

Alarm says black ink out.. however it has a newly filled cartridge.. it won't scan or get past this warning/alarm?

Is this a new cartridge or the same cartridge refilled?
There appears to be a mechanism that prevents the same cartridge being used immediately after the system has declared it empty.
Some users get around this with a chip-resetting gizmo (available on the net) others find that using a new cartridge for a while and then putting the refilled cartridge in is often sufficient to get around it.

I am refilling the black ink of my canon printer using continuous ink container but the black color doesn't flow into the end of the hose and it didn't print at all, please help

  • Check the printer's power/alarm light. If it is flashing orange, count the number of flashes. Look up the flash code in your printer's user manual to diagnose the problem.
  • 2 Remove and reinstall the ink cartridges if the power/alarm light flashes 5, 7 or 15 times consecutively. This indicates that the issue is a cartridge error, an incorrectly installed cartridge, or an unrecognized cartridge. These errors can be fixed by reinstalling the ink cartridges. Make sure that you are using the correct ink cartridges for your Canon printer.

  • Turn on the printer and open the front cover. The ink cartridge holder should move to the replacement position.
  • 4 Verify that the colored ink cartridge is inserted in the slot on the right and the black ink cartridge is inserted in the slot on the left. Swap the cartridges and reinstall them in the correct slots if necessary.
  • 5 Check to see that both ink cartridges are level with one other and parallel to the top of the ink cartridge holder. If either cartridge is wedged at an angle, gently apply pressure to the cartridge until it clicks into the correct position.
  • 6 Close the front cover of your Canon printer and wait while the printer initializes the newly installed cartridges. This can take a minute or two.

    The black print won't print, but colour does, although very lightly. I have refilled the ink cartridges at Island Inkjet, so there is ink,..but black won't print at all.

    your black ink cartridge got bad sprayer nozzles now you gotta replace it
    and why the other color one is not bad yet cus printer as will known will depend on black ink far more so the black cartridge is heated up more times

    I had my cartridges re-filled at Cartridge World for the second time. The first time gave no problems. This time I installed the cartridges and for some reason the colour will not work at all. The status...

    remove cartridge(s) and insert surface head into hot water for about 20 seconds and test it by sliding it over a cloth. Repeat untill ink visible.

    All the colored ink work properly except for the black doesn't print you know how can i fix it?don't have enough money to fix there a remedy for it???pls..pls...need

    Refilled cartridges could damage your printer sometimes. So the person who refilled it this time might not have filled it correctly. Purchase a new cartridge and try it. It should work.

    If the ink was refilled, you need to reset or get a new chip for the cartridge. If it is a new Canon ink they will exchange it. Sometimes the pins in the carriage get bent and then they can't read the chip on the cartridge.

    MP140 can't recognise the black cartridge that I've just installed. Error code 4 - any ideas? I've tried the manual - nothing, and not much luck online - Thanks

    Error code 4 normally indicates that there is no unk, and the solution is by installing a genuine cartridge, Try to use Black PG40 remanufactured Canon printer ink cartridge. This cartridge is a high capacity cartridge which has been filled with 23ml of ink compared with the 16ml (Black) that you get with the originals. Compatible with: Canon Pixma MP140. if this error still occur it is better that you try the following procedure below:-

    When you insert a refilled ink cartridge into your Pixma MP140 printer you should get a warning about the refilled cartridge. You should also be prompted, asking if you wish to disable ink level detecting. Agree to do so, and you won’t get the warnings again because the ink levels won’t be monitored by the printer.

    Resetting the Ink Counter When an ink tank is replaced, the ink counter must be reset. The low ink warning is only displayed properly if the ink counter is reset.

    Message Prompting Confirmation of Ink Tank Replacement
    If an ink tank is removed, the printer will output a message prompting you to confirm replacement of the ink tank at the start of the next print job.
    When an ink tank has been replaced, follow the procedure below to reset the ink counter. The low ink warning is only displayed properly if the ink counter is reset.
    If infrared communication is performed in Windows XP or Windows 2000, the printer will not output the message asking for confirmation of ink tank replacement.
    Reset the ink counter from the printer driver when you replace the ink tank.

    1 Check the message, and click Yes.

    Mistakenly clicking No instead, will prevent the low ink warning from functioning properly. If this happens, be sure to open the driver's Properties dialog box and manually reset the ink tank counter in the Maintenance tab.

    2 Select the replaced ink tank, and click OK.
    The dialog box allows you to select the replaced ink tank.
    When both black and color ink tanks have been replaced, select both Black and Color.
    If you have not replaced the ink tank with a new one, click Cancel.

    Black ink cartridge

    Usually a contact issue. Try wiping the contacts in the carrier as well as the contacts on the cartridge. I have even cleaned the cart. contact with a pencil eraser then wiped them. If this does not work try a new cart.

    Canon mx 310 alarm color cartridge empty

    Go to the printer driver (control panel -> Printer -> Right Click your Printer -> Properties). From there go to maintenance tab, Ink Cartridges, Select Black only. Then click OK. Finally hold the Stop/ Reset button for 10 secs or so. It will then work after a couple of warnings.
