Question about Canon imageCLASS MF6530 Monochrome Laser Copier/Printer

My machine, a Canon ImageClass MF 6530, says paper jam/open left cover and I can't find any paper in the path after careful inspection. I gives the message without trying to feed any paper. I got into service mode, but I can't do anything there and I can't find where to access any error codes that might help me determine where the problem is? Any advice? Denny

    I think I've ruled out paper, even small bits. Is there any way to get an error code that would tell me which sensor thinks it is jammed. I have a service manual and it looks like there are such codes. I just haven't found a way to access them.

Hello Denny. Open up both the front and the rear of the machine and get a flash light to examine everything very carefully. A tiny bit of paper can cause that message to plague you. Joe

Hello, Denny.

May be a faulty or broken paper sensor. But, be certain to remove all the tiny bits of paper, from the ADF, and the Multi-tray.

If still a problem and your printer is still under the 1-year warranty, Contact canon for a repair or replacement.

Hello, If the printer will not reset then you still have a piece of paper stuck somewhere in the paper path. Did you power the printer down and back up? Here is manual.

Printer won't print after clearing a paper jam


I use to have an HP All-In-One Laser Jet printer that, for reasons unknown to me, wouldn't print after clearing a paper jam until I replaced the ink cartridge.

try this
Turn off the printer.
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

Open the left cover and inspect the paper tray and the fuser unit.90% paper jam in the fuser/exit unit.Inspect and clean the rollers and the fingers.

Printing blank pages


My MF 6530 printer began printing light so we changed the cartridge and the machine began printing blank pages. When the other cartridge was put back in the machine, it too began printing blank pages. We have several of these machines in a couple of offices and have had this problem before. Canon is aware of the issue with this model, but I would like to know it as well. Can you help with what the problem is and the repair instruction? A friend of mine with this machine and the same problem, had called Canon and they had repaired it quite fast in his office. I'd like to do it myself in case it re-occurrs.

Canon Copier MF 6530 stopped printing after a paper jam, everthing else works fine no error code just won't print. I have remove the cartridge shook it and still nothing. Do you have any suggestions?...


I would reset the Photo conductor unit. It will have a Green drum in it. I would make sure it is set in the machine all the way, and that the drum door opens completly. BLANK copies are and indication the paper has NOT touched the drum to recieve an image.

Error 002 with Canon image class MF 8180 C


I usually open the back cover, top cover, cartridge cover and pull out the paper tray. Sometimes this clears the alarm, if this does not clear the alarm, I unplug the printer for a couple minutes. Between opening and closing the covers and unpluging the printer, the alarm goes away. Ray

Cannot find paper jam ...


We have a D780, which is probably very similar to your unit. Have you removed your toner cartridge and inspected to see if any paper is in the paper path? 95% of the time that is where the paper jam is.

MF-8170C REC. PAPER JAM and Open Cover


Get a thick piece of paper and feed it in to the printer following the paper path the best you can until you get the piece of paper you can't see out of it.
