Hi Grant
Do you mean the username and passward that comes up when you access the router's inbuilt webserver?
If you haven't changed them they are likely to be admin and admin.
If you have changed them and you really can't remember, then the only real option is to reset the unit back to factory settings. That involved sticiks something small enough into the reset hole on the back. A straightened paper-clip is best. Press it into the hole, you'll feel the switch click as you press. keep holding \till you get some flashing lights on the front, that normally indicates that the rest has happened.
Then of course you'll have to set the unit up again with your ISP access login and password.

Forgotten password for wifi network

Which operating system ??
Your wireless Internet password is the encrypted security pass phrase that was set up when you installed your wireless router.

Your router allows you to access the Internet.
If you have access to more than one wireless network, you may need to remember multiple passwords.

If you happen to forget one password, you have two options: reset your password or locate the current password.

Windows 7 allows you to view the security characters of all your wireless network passwords.
Click the "Wi-Fi" network icon located on the Window's taskbar.

Right-click the name of your network's "SSID" name and select "Properties" from the drop-down menu.

Click the "Security Tab." The network security key is now visible but unreadable.

Click the "Show Characters" check box and this will reveal your wireless password.

My LINKSYS as for password, it is locked

Press and hold the reset button of the Linksys router using a pointed object (like a paper clip or pen) for 30 seconds.

The reset button is located in the back of the Linksys router closest to an Ethernet port.

The button is recessed to protect you from accidentally resetting the modem.

Unplug the Linksys router while pressing the reset button.

Shut down your computer for one minute.

Plug the Linksys router back into the wall outlet.

Reboot your computer.

Open your web browser to access a website.

Type the below in the address bar if you want to reset your password:

http://192.168.1.1

A prompt from the site will request a user name and password.

The user name stays blank, or, in some models, is "admin".

Navigate to the security tab. Input your new password to protect unauthorized access to your router

hope this helps

You will need to set the router to factory setting (default) and go through the setup wizard
to establish another user name/ password and key.
You will need to go to the Linksys site to guide you through the setup .

I have forgotten my password and need to connect a new computer to my router-the router is a belking plus mimo and I have a linksys wireless g speed booster -what do I do to fix this? Many thanks

Reset the both routers in order to go to the factory default setting.
BELKIN (192.168.2.1) normally has no user name or password. So just hit enter.
Linksys (192.168.1.1)
User Name: admin
Pass Word: admin

You can always change the user name and password

Good Luck!

Password forgotten

What you need to do here is to get the Wireless security from your Linksys router by accessing its setup page, Just type http://192.168.1.1 on the address bar of your working computer then that should be asking you for a username and password, just leave the user name blank and type admin for password. If you're already on the router setup page you will see there Wireless tab just go to it and after that go to Wireless security sub tab under wireless and you can find there the wireless key that you need..

If that wont work contact me back for further help....

Don't forget to rate the solution FIXYA thank you...............

you can't change the default name...that is always left blank, but you can change the password.

Access the user interface & click on Administration.  It should automatically be in the Management section at this point.

Enter your desired password in the Router Password field.
Re-enter to confirm the password in the next field.

Click on Save Settings.

Password protection for my linksys wireless router

you need to get into the routers settings and look in the menu for security and select atleast WEP security and either you type a password in to reveal a 8 digit code or type in your own mixture of numbers and letters, which will then have to be entered into each pc when they try to connect. You can also look in the SSID and remove the name or dissable SSID so as your network will not appear on anybody elses wireless searches.
