Sony KF60XBR800 Ghosting

I have had a gradually increasing amount of ghosting in my picture for over a year now. Is there a solution that's not too expensive. I've tried the different settings in the menu with no improvement. Appriciate any help or ideas. I am very mechanically inclined so I'm not afraid to try anything.

Did the V pos D Tweak. Works great! I press mute, then enter. All is ok. However when I restart the TV. Ghosting is back! I changed 30 ~ 31. But after a few minutes - turn on the TV. And it always goes back to 30!!! I did the tweak 10 times or more. always works!, but does not appear to save! (I do not press the mute and enter botton at the same time) But I do save, pressing mute folowed by enter. Is there some knid of auto-correct feature I have to turn off or something? Any help would be Great. As a note: I am in Japan and my TV is called KL-50DX700 it seems to be similar to KP-60ws500. anyway, Sony service came and said I needed to change my LCD block etc... $700.00 or more they said! I started looking for a solution and found this tweak into the SM. Great! works great! Picture is fantastic again! But, please any help on permently saving!!!??? I would be very greatful!

I have the same problem of ghosting. It seems to be a red ghosting in most instances. Do I need to take it in for servicing or is there something I can do?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Ghosting or double vision on screen...about 5 years old..changed bulb did not change anything

If your TV looks 3D, warped, or distorted it likely has a convergenge problem.
If however it just looks dull, washed out, redish, or if it looks like objects on the screen have halos the fluid in the lens has soured.
You can search google for parts or you can get the parts with repair instructions from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com

I have a ghosting problem with my Sony XBR800 TV?

Sony is saying I have to repair my ghosting problem with an optical engine for $1650 plus $395 installation. Guess life expectancy on this TV is only 5 years. I'll think twice about a Sony in the future. Our super bowl party will be great for Sony. When everyone asks "whats wrong with your TV", I'll have to say Sony said 5 years is just about right

There is a bulletin that addresses this problem, but you must follow it EXACTLY as it invoolves changing settings in the service menu and you could easily make your TV unuseable if you change the wrong thing. if you want the bulletin i could send it, but I would recommend you have a Sony qualified tech do the adjustment

Hey joseph, actually replacing the optical Block is not necessary at all, all you need to do is get into the "Service Mode" of the Tv and change a few setting around, did it a few weeks ago and now my TV looks perfect, no reason to waster $1200 as sony is trying to get over on all us consumers.

Sounds like a light engine issue to me. Is there anyway you can post a picture of the issue itself?
