Question about Harman Kardon SIGNATURE 2.1 Amplifier
My amp suddenly stopped working last night. As soon as the amp turns on, the speakers pop rather violently, but the audio output is very minimal....it sounds as if audio passes to my speakers without being amplified.
Oddly enough, the amp isn't going into protect mode.....it simply stays on but doesn't amplify the audio. I checked the fuses this morning, and they all look find, although I will start by replacing them just in case.
You have a bad amplifier section and your unit will need to be repaired by a technician. I would disconnect the speakers to prevent possible damage. In some cases components in line with the transistors will be bad in the amplifier also. There is no way to tell without electrically testing the unit in shop. Estimated repair cost would be in the 60 to 80 dollar range depending on the number of parts that are bad and the labor rate in your area.
