How to stop printing

While your question is not quite clear, I will provide a couple of suggestions. Usually when you press the cancel button, it pauses the printer and then you must use the arrow keys to select cancel job and then press the checkmark. Also check any computers to make sure that they do not have a job in their print queue. If the printer does not send back a job complete command, sometimes the computer will keep resending the job. Failing all else, restart your computer and your printer. Are the pages that are printing gibberish or is it the correct print job? If gibberish, you might have a corrupted print driver or the file you are printing might be corrupted.

Printronix P5215. Upgraded this printer to use Eternet card. Whenever i send large print jobs thru my AIX queue the printer will fail at the end of the job and just stop printing. I can switch back to

I've seen a very similar problem with the L5000 series printer.
It turned to be that the problem was with HP jetdirect that the customer used instead of the printronix printnet.
Several jetdirect were used and all cause a similar problem.
When the printronix printnet was used everything worked fine

The printer prints a blank page with a line of gibberish in the upper left corner before it prints the real page.

Can you send me a "print to file" of the failing document.

At first blush it can be either of two things.

1) The preceding print job did not properly clean out the printer's memory.

2) The new print job, has data or a busted escape command in it that is being treated as printable data.

Send the print file to don.farr@hotmail.com and I'll read through the document header to see what's going on.

I am trying to print from my netbook using an hp printer. i am getting an error message saying that the print queue is full.

Yes, printer won't print if print queue is full. The fact is you are lucky your printer is giving you this message. Most printers, when queue is full, will just remain silent and leave you wandering what in the world has gone wrong.

Solution is to clear the print queue. See, when you send to print and you send another when the previous hasn't printed, they queue up. Now if for any reason the first fails to print, all others will just remain queued up but will not print until you clear the print jobs queued up.

To do, this go to start/control panel/printers. Right click on printer icon and select open. The respective print queue box appears. It should have all of the print jobs listed there in the box. On the menu bar click on printer and select "Cancel all documents." A box appears asking you to confirm if you want to cancel, answer yes. Then try to print again. If it still fails to print restart your PC and try to print again.

HP PSC 950 auto switch off

The printer is always on despite of the status of the front panel, to turn it off you have to disconnect the power cord.
In some models of HP printers, the printer will power itself ON from "standby" when the PC sends it a printing job and go back to "Standby" when the job has finished printing.

I have to turn the machine off then turn it back on in order to print

Hi there you could try plugging it into another USB slot or change the cable also within your word processing program goto file page setup and check that the paper size match what is in the machine.

Try these first then get back to me
Thanks J
