Question about Canon MV530i Mini DV Digital Camcorder
It may be that the internal back up battery needs replacing
Posted on Dec 20, 2010
This red "canoe" warning is an indication that you need to replace the
CR1616 battery, a simple and cheap fix as these wristwatch type
batteries are widely available.
This fix applies to all the Canon MV series cameras, although the location of the battery might differ from that of the MV700i.
Remove the main Canon battery from the back of the camera, and you will find a small hatch door which contains the small silver CR1616 battery.
This battery manages internal functions when power is off such as date/time settings and user preferences.
Lever it out from the top using the hatch door and replace with a new one, and you'll need to reset the clock and user settings.
