Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
I have my play station 3 for a meger 3 months now, and have played it a hand full of times with no problems with blue ray dvd or music or games, however, out of the blue it will not show anything on the tv screen , i keep getting a not supported mode from my tv. I have tried it on another tv and still the same no output
Turns out my Samsung HLP-5063W television was powering on to a 480P resolution. Don't know why. The Playstation did not produce a signal at that resolution, hence the "Not supported mode" message. When I manually set the TV to 1080i (its maximum) the PS3 came up just fine, asking if I wanted to optimize the video at that maximum 1080i. All is now well!

Try holding the power on button down until you hear a series of beeps, each one representing your ps3 switching video modes. try this until you get a picture on your screen, then you can use the options to set it to your tv's resolution. I've seen this same problem often from people holding the button when they turn it on :3.
Hope this helps.
