Question about Scotts Lawn 73740 SPDY GREEN 3000 B/C S 3 EA 13610498
The agitator part I got is for a scott speedy green 1000, but the spreader I have is an older one it said scott speedy green, it does not have the 1000 on it. My question is will this part work and how do I install it.

I replaced mine with a clip-in cotter key, the kind they use for farm implements to keep a pin in place. I bought a stainless steel one at Lowe's for ~$1. Works at least as good as what I had.

Mine broke today! From the Scotts web site they say you can email them or call 1-888-270-3714 for replacements parts. I am calling Monday.

SOURCE: lost manual
I have a Scotts speedy green 3000. Got it $5
used. I just called Scotts, and they are sending me a manual. But, they told me
how to calibrate it. First, you need to know if you have the same
"version" as I do. Apparently they made the same model more than one way.
I'm told I have a newer one. The way the Scotts rep differentiated was by the
wheels. I have all black wheels with orange hubcaps. Older models have orange
wheels. If you have the model I have, then do this to calibrate the spreader:
1. On the black slide that comes up when the handle is pulled to open the spreader and releasing product you will find a curved line about 1/2 and inch from the top.
2. Set the spreader to a setting of 2 on the handle.
3. When you pull the lever as if you were releasing product, the indented black line should line up with the curved part of the green hopper at the top of the opening.
4. If it does not align, then you need to adjust the cable that run from the handle down to the hopper door. This is done using pliers of wrench by turning the square nut at the bottom of the cable. It's trial and error at this point.
Mine was off by 30%.
