I have a 52 inch wide screen rear projection ( the one with mirrors I am told) about 5 years old. When you turn the TV on the light on the front power button comes on for a second then goes out then comes back on a few times then goes out. After doing this abotu 3 or 4 times the TV turns on

unplug the tv for about 5 minutes then plug it back in

I would try resoldering the flyback terminals thats a component thats prone to have solder issues and it will cause those same symptoms.

i think yours projection t.v mirror are damage

try turning off the auto shut off feature in you set up screens . you can find them through the menu button on your remote. scroll through till you find it and turn it off.

you need to take the screws out from around the screen in the back, on edges, go to the front and take the screws out from the bottom of the screen, should be 4 or 6 in the front, pick up on the screen and lift off, only about 8 pounds, now clean the little mirror in front of the projector, and clean the dust off the projector lence, that will solve it, iv had to do this on about 50 of thease tv's

tv worked great, turned it off one day and back on the next and the on light would not come on nor would the tv work, rear projection 52 inch rca

You need to pull the top back off be very carefull that you do not break mirror clean mirror and all 3 tube lenses this should make a diffenrents in picture.

make sure you do not have the automatic screen mode set to wide screen on tv menu .Also if you have cable box set to wide mode only then the tv will only display wide mode.
