Network driver fot intel[R]core[TM]2duocpu [email protected]

The Core2 Duo E7400 CPU does not offer any networking support by itself. You need separate dedicated hardware for networking, either as part of your main board's chip set, via an internal networking card, or via external means, e.g. an USB connected network adapter.
Whatever you chose, these devices come with individual drivers or at least a manual directing you to a download site. Many (especially older ones) are directly supported by Windows and do not require user installation of a driver.

I have an Acer Aspire AST690 Up925A PC--recently I purchased another Gig of memory and want to install it, what are the safety precautions I should observe? And is it pretty obvious where the additional...

Hi dml89,

Just be careful during installation because improperly handled or attached memory module may not function. Aside from your extra memory modules you'll need a screwdriver to remove the cover of your computer case. Read on the tips I have below that will be helpful for you.

1. Dispel any buildup of static electricity on your body by grounding yourself. You can do this by either wearing an antistatic wrist strap or by frequently touching a grounded metal surface during installation.

2. Also,RAM modules and other internal pc computer hardware are highly sensitive to static electricity which is produced by friction. If you do not ground yourself, you risk destroying your memory modules, as well any other computer component that you come in contact with.

3. RAM Slots are pretty obvious you can check this link1 and link2 to view.

4. Make sure to turn off your computer and detach the power cord from the wall socket as a safety precaution. Even though your computer is turned off, electricity can flow through the plugged power cables during a power surge.

5. When you boot up your computer, do not forget to check whether the extra memory has been recognized by your desktop PC.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Acer Aspire AST690-UP925A

If you look at the back of you computer tower you should see 4 screws, one at each corner. Unscrew those one side at a time and that should allow you to examine the inside of your computer. Be careful when poking around because static electricity may short something out.
