this model does not use the word subtitle, so I searched some more. It uses "CC display" buried under the screen settings.

I had no manual for this inherited TV, so it was a real trial and error endeavor, but I finally found the setting. Yeah, its the disguise that keeps you from finding the answer, lol Thanks for the inspiration.

Look for where to turn off subtitling. It'll be there somewhere, accessible via the remote.

Good onya, "cc" stands for "closed caption". Same thing, different guise. Cheers!

I have an old Sharp Model # 27A-S100 I have a Black Line running across the bottom of my screen from left to right 22 1/2" length and 3 1/4" in height

If this line does not go all the way across the screen then I will bet you this is an easy fix. Press the menu button on the remote control. The menu will hopefully show up over-top the black. Search your menu for the closed caption setting (usually under audio settings menu) and turn closed caption OFF. Hopefully this fixes your issue. Cheers.

Lost Manual. "Clock set, year, month, etc." on screen. Working with "Menu" button doesn't fix it. How do I get it off?

There is usually a cancel button.
If that does not work, try unplugging the TV power cable for two minutes.
If still no luck , then give me the complete model number, or enter the model number here to access manual.

Regards.

Blurry screen GE 25GT511

hi There shouldnt be much in the focus system to go wrong as really there is nly the tube base and the flyback transformer. The usual for a TV is the tube faulty so its beyond repair. You could try the focus control, this will be on the flyback transformer. Back off TV, look for a heavy lead going to the dome of the tube at centre top and with eyes ONLY follow that back to the flyback transformer. On the side of that transformer is 2 screws, one near the top is the focus control. You will need a screwdriver to turn it and it usually has a seal to be broken. That will turn from say 8 o clock to 4 o clock no more, turn it up clockwise, try both ways. if it almost fixes but not quite it would be the tube. good luck
