Carrier products fall into a fail safe mode when any of the various overtemp sensors open or fail. check all of the micro switches that are around the burners and if any are open then that is your reason for the indoor fan to run nonstop. now you have to look at what caused the sensor to trip open. usually over heating. possibly a bad capacitor on the motor or the motor itself . or it could be excessive gas pressure creating to much flame and heat. test the gas pressure with a manometor. you can pick one up for about 100 bucks or call the gas company and see if they will come check it for free. then test the burners by observing flame pattern and flame rise off burners. then check the heat exchanger with a carbon monoxide detector . you can pick one up for about three hundred dollars . or try to get a gas guy that has one to check it. you may very well wind up calling a pro cause a simple mistake and you can easily kill some one or burn down the house. messing with gas aint the best way to save a buck. good luck.

The 5 amp fuse may be bad, they go quite often, and they are exactly the same as the car ones. Check the fuse with a meter. If its OK turn the unit on and check for voltage going to the blower fan. You should get a reading between at least one pair of wires. The unit should have a schematic on it somewhere, check it to see which wire pairs are used for the variable speeds of the fan.
It sounds like it is going into overheat mode. Check the overheat sensor, make sure the flue is clean, make sure any filters are clean, also check the gas passage inthe heat exchanger, if there is a blockage from soot the system will overheat
Hi Rick; Two things . You have a faulty control board. You have a high limit safety not reset or faulty...Is the gas valve in the on position and have You paid Your gas bill. I have encountered these problems before with my service calls...alpharome416
There is no pilot light, its electronic start now. like your stove should be. you can trigger the furnace by shorting out the correct combo on the thermostat but not advised unless you know the right ones. be sure the power is on the the transformer that provides power to the thermostat. though that may be contained within the furnace now days. just check your fuse box and call a tech.
. Several times of recyling power normally brings the furnance up. Though the failure code has always been 31, there are several different behaviour when the blower starts after reset : a. blower simply creases. b. there is an attempt to start the heating unit (I hear the high pitch noises), then everything stops. c. there is an attempt to start the heating unit (I hear the high pitch noises), once I see the orange glow from the coil, normally the gas is lit up and the unit starts working.
Sounds like you either blew a transformer, have a bad circuit breaker or blew the main fuse in the outside disconnect. If the indoor unit is still blowing air (no matter what temperature) start looking at the power supply to the outdoor unit. From the circuit breaker, the power will go to a small box located within a few feet from the outside unit. This box will have either a lever on the side or you will be able to open the box and pull out the fuses. From this box the power goes to the condensor. The first thing you should do is to turn off the breaker to the outside unit. Flip it back on and if you have a call for cooling, after about 3 minutes the outdoor unit should start. If it does not, shut off power again to the unit by switching off the breaker, go outside and pull out the fuses in the disconnect box. Using a multi meter, check for continuity thru the fuses. If you have continuity, call your technician. If one or both fuses show no sign of continuity, replace the fuse(s).
Make sure that the thermostat is working and sending a signal to the indoor air handler. You may be able to check this by turning the fan switch to "Fan" and see if the blower turns on. You may just have a bad thermostst.
