Try operating with NO battery - the battery may be overloading the AC source.

There are a lot of possible reasons why your computer isn't turning on. Here are the things that you can do to identify the reason of the problem.

Remove the battery and use the charger to power up your computer. If it turns on well, then replace the battery in your computer. If the charger does not turn on your computer, then check the charger if it's still working fine or the port where the power charger goes. Check if there are signs of damages in the port of your computer.

DV7 did not working from fully gharged battery

Hello. There is a hardware failure with the laptop not the AC charger. AC chargers have some range of protections of their own. If the power requirements of the laptop are bigger then what the charger can handle, the charger will turn off. Also other parameters can bring the charger offline. In your case, you have a problem with a small chip, the battery charge controller unit, which regulates the amount of current required to propperly charge the battery. When this thing fails, the charging requirements for the battery are reported rong and the AC charger is forced to give more power then necesary. This results in disconnection of the AC charger ( an internal fail safe of the
AC charger) and the laptop to swich back to battery power. When the laptop is turned off, it can charge the battery because the power requirements are low, having all processor, main board, hard disk etc turned off. Therefore the AC charger can handle the load. However you will need to have it checked by a service center as it is a hardware fault. Both AC charger and laptop needs that check.
The charge controll circuit needs to be replaced probably. It will be a somewhat expensive repair. Don't buy any other battery untill you have the laptop checked.

My e525 emachine doesnot charge i plug the charger it work when i remove it it turns off

If the charger or power brick is able to power up the computer and you can use your computer but it does not charge the battery, then the battery is most likely faulty. They only last a few years, slowly loosing their ability to power your computer until they die.

Remove the battery and plug in the power connector into your laptop computer. Power on your laptop, if it powers on and you can use it, then you need a new battery.

Contact a computer store for a replacement battery.

Take care!

Have Toshiba Equium L300, has just stopped working, no power getting to laptop. can anyone advise if this is abttery or power cable? cheers

Remove the battery and plug in the charger(Power Cord).
Try turning on the computer.
If it starts, its an issue with the battery.
Battery may not have charge or the computer is not charging the battery.
Try replacing the battery before checking the computer.
If not, it can be either the computer or the charger.
But try checking it with a different charger before taking the computer for repair.

My computer won't turn on or charge.

You need to diagnose the problem.
>First try to take the battery out of the computer and just use the charger to make computer run.
>If it turns on it means that the battery is what's causing the problem.
>But, if computer cannot run using the charger/AC Adapter then it means that we have a problem with the charger.
By doing this diagnostics you know which part to replace.

I have replaced the battery with a new one all it will do is the power charging lightjust barly flashes and it wont power up.

first thing, completely shut down your computer. then remove all the accessories. battery and charger. press the power button for 1 minute so it will refressh your settings to default.

Then connect just the charger and turn on your computer. If it powers up means the power adapter is working fine.

You can check the battery.

But if the problem still persist it is a posible hardware issue and you need a technician to physicaly check your computer. It could be the mother board if you cannot see any windows page.

Just got my TTone, confused about when to use the charger

To avoid an eventual loss of power while you are driving and the subsequent unsafe fumbling with the machine, you can plug the TT in the cigarette lighter during your ride. This will supply power to the GPS and recharge the battery.
Alternatively, before going on a trip plug the TT in a USB port of a computer and it will recharge the battery. With a fully charged battery and the car power adapter/battery charger you will not run out of power.

Computer will not start

There could be a problem with the battery. A fast check to determine whether you have a problem with the power adapter, power cord or the laptop's battery is to turn off the laptop, remove the battery, connect the power adapter, turn on the laptop & see if it works.
If the laptop works directly from the power adapter with the battery removed, then the power adapter is good. In this case we can suspect that the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.

If this did not work, try also disassembling the laptop & make sure that all main components are seated properly. Also make sure that all ribbon cables interconnecting the various components of the laptop are tightly connected.

Battery won't charge after being replaced

The charger might be bad. Or then the pdas connector is bad, or the motherboard is damaged.

to find out is your charger working you could use a tester to test it or another pda.

If you could get some power into the pda you could use the bootloader to test the device. Its been years since I had my 3850.

Il have to find instructions on how to get to the bootloader but test the other things first.

Drop a comment.
