When a disc is placed in the machine the lazer reads the disc. However if dirt has got in the way it will not see any disc at all. You should follow the instructions for cleaning the lens of the player. See if that corrects it.

but the lazer too when its too dirty it wont read the disc -- disc error

for some reason the unit is not happy with the disc have you tried running a lazer cleaner through it? although i wonder if that will work as the words bad disc does seem to mean a lazer read problem but then it can only be either a dirty lazer or the lazer is miss aligned withch means it need s a pro service .... try cleaning the laser

If not you have my problem spindle motor suspected faulty if the disc spins then its not being read, faulty lazer assy Try cleaning the lazer using dry brush disc philips do a good one and also clean the disc you are trying to play if it still doesnt work its a fault
