Unlocking my region code

Open My Computer, right click the DVD icon and select properties,
click hardware tab at the top.
Select your DVD player from the list, click the Properties button, and then the DVD Region tab. Select the Country you want to change the region code to and click OK.
It should tell you how many changes you are allowed. When you have used them all it stays locked at the last one you chose.

Can you tell me whether this is a bios power on password, a hard drive lock password, or a windows administrative operating system password? I'm assuming that it is asking for a password when you say "locked".
