When I try and ping an IP adress it returns a time out request.

We have IBM Lenovo desktop computers.

I can ping my internal IPadress , no external IP address. ex google.com. Yahoo.com etc.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

1.Check whether there is ping to router from lan computers.
2. If there is no ping then check the cable b/w lan computers 7 router.
3.Else if there is ping to router, then check ur router for any ip blocks, access lists etc..
4. Turn - off the local firewall, so there also a chance of it blocking access to internet

How to reset TrippLite SMNPWEBCARD

I bought a used power outlet control unit(PDUMH30NET).I could not find any instructions how to reset to factory defaults to clear out any static IP address and go to DHCP, so I pulled out the card, saw a small pushbutton between the 2 round connectors. I think the following process did the reset but its IP wasn't showing up at the router so I tried a couple of combinations before I found the IP with a PING scan.
Take off the small plate holding the card in(2 screws)
With a toothpick reach between the round connectors and press and hold the small button for close to a minute. I also tried
pressing it and holding it while inserting the card. The card takes several minutes to restart so wait for the green Status light. If you can't see it's MAC and IP address at the router, paste this in a Command window and run it:

FOR /L %i IN (1,1,254) DO ping -n 1 192.168.0.%i ' FIND /i "Reply">>
c:\ipaddresses.txt

Look in the file for an IP that wasn't on your network before- that should be it.Put it in the browser and you should get the login. admin/admin got me in.

My cisco 877 dsl router sometime disconected from internet itself and after 5 or 6 hours its return back what can be the problem

1. check the status to the router page by logging into the router to see if the router lost connectivity.
2. Pinging an outside address will tell you if you have lost connectivity with the ISP or not.
Ping test = Ping www.yahoo.com
this is within the router

Hard to tell without knowing your setup. How many servers do you have and how are they connected (workgroup, domain)? Sounds like it could be a configuration somewhere.

Siements 5890 router

When you say HQ is that outside on the wan port trying to ping the Lan port?
Sometimes the router itself will respond to a ping but will not pass ping requests thru as the internal firewall can never be fully shutoff unless you are running your cisco switch as a DMZ
also are you connecting your other pc's to the cisco or to the 5890.
Instead of shutting off the firewall completely try enabling bridge mode and give your cisco the outside IP addy.
