Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have recently purchased the JVC KDG531 car cd player. i have only had it for 5 weeks and it doesnt seem to be reading the cds any more. it comes up with an error meassage that continuously flashes- a series of numbers and letters on the display. the radio was okay and now even that you cant tune any other chaneel because a different error message flashes. i spoke to the company whom i bought it from (car audio direct - online) and they want me to pay for the postage and packaging for it to be repaired under warranty which is a massive inconvenience

Cd Player in Mitsubishi Lancer not Reading Cds

I have this problem with my car cd player in nissan sentra. You can buy a cd/dvd cleaner and clean drive several times. Previous owner probably put dirty cds in their and the lenses can be very dirty. My cd player would say error and just spit cd back out. Now it works on and off, i think the lense is still dirty in mine. Good Luck. If that dont do it could be something more major with the player.

Jvc kd-sx770 car stereo--radio works, but cd player doesn't

Hello beeswing70,

The player is recognizing that a CD has been inserted but is not able to read it.

Sometimes the lens assembly becomes contaminated and obscures the laser. I'd try using a commercial "lens cleaning CD" two or three times and then try a CD again. These lens cleaning CD's are widely available. If cleaning does not help, the player need professional service.

Hope this helps.

Denon DCM 390 not longer reads discs--HELP!

Hi there, this lens may be dirty or it may have a thin layer of heat film that is causing it to not read in a consistent manner. i would try to clean the lens with a good CD lens cleaner. if the cleansing doesn't restore the lens to its original reading state, this will confirm lens assembly failure and you will need to replace this assembly.
