i've lost the instrutions for my panasonic KX-A144Es phone and answer machine, and I can't remeber how turn on the answer facility. Can anyone help?

-   the volome of the callers voice continues to change so loud you can't stand it, and so low you can't hear them. I have went all through the menu and nothing refers to this problem. any ideas?-   snoopers23
