Canon Pixma IP3000 6C00 Logic Board Assembly repair?

I have the 6C00 error on my ip3000. IS there any 'cheat' to fixing the problem? I've heard it's a valve purge error or something and I'm fairly handy with a screwdriver. Is there anything to do for someone who believes in the "Duct Tape and Garbage can build anything A-Team" motto?

Thanks Cropp. I'll try that tonight when I get home. IF it fixes it I'll be way pleased.

I'm at saffir at gmail dot com.

Cropp, that didn't work. Holding the power on and pressing resume doesn't change the LED color. Are you sure that is for the IP3000?

Here's the correct procedure (at least it worked as it said it would for me)

    Pixma IP3000
    1. Turn off printer.
    2. retaining button Resume/Cancel press button POWER - indicator it will catch fire by green color.
    3. let go button Resume/Cancel, continuing to retain POWER.
    4. press button Resume/Cancel of 2 times, retaining POWER, after which let go all buttons.
    5. when indicator will be lit BY GREEN - press button Resume/Cancel of 4 times!!!
    6. turn off printer by button POWER.

all i did was change the USB cable in to a USB2 port, instead of usb 1.
Now it is working fine again. ;-)

    - so weird.

I have a acanon pixma mp210.. amber alarm light

Error 5100 is Carriage error.Possible problems in:
- Carriage unit
- Timing **** strip film
- Logic board assembly
- Carriage motor
First, make sure there is no paper jam anywhere in the machine.. look inside, rear, where the paper tray (output) is, etc to see if you find any shreds or torn paper that may have gotten stuck and you didn't see.Look carefully in the zone of Purge unit, using flashlight in the right side on printer. If this not help your printer need service.

Canon Pixma ip3000 flashing amber 6 times

If the 6 flashes are accompanied by an on screen message #5400, this is a "Service Call Error" code.

This code indicates the following;
Internal temperature error [5400]
The solution to this is the following part replacementl
- Logic board ***'y (QM2-1548) *1

*1: Before replacement of the logic board ***'y, check the waste ink amount (by service test print or EEPROM information print). If the waste ink amount is 7% or
more, also replace the bottom case unit (QM2-1205) or the ink absorbers (QC1-4222 / 4223 / 4224 / 4263 / 4264 / 4864 / 4221 / 4257) when replacing the
logic board ***'y.
[See Section 3-3. Adjustment / Settings, (6) Service mode, for details.]

Good luck!!!

If it really is a "logic board" problem, then it's time to responsibly recycle the printer, and to purchase a brand-new printer; hopefully, you can find one that uses the same ink-cartridges as your current printer.

A "pro" would charge you $50 to $100 to _look_ at it, with _no_ guarantee of being able to fix it; instead, invest that money in the new printer, which you _know_ will work.
