No the remote is completely separate from the belt. Make sure the unit is not in the vacation mode. If the small light in the wall control is blinking press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds.

Sounds like the motor has failed. Clicks is the solenoid, buzzing is the windings on the motor trying to move. You can check if the motor turns by hand, and if it does, you need a repair person.

How do i fix garage door that wont open or close?

You have to make sure the trolley on the drive engages with the catch on the door. You may have to lift the door to the point it will engage while you are running the trolley in the close mode. Check that the trolley latch is open and ready to engage the catch. There is usually a rope to pull on to do this.

please test the output voltage from control board motor, for voltage measure in terminal motor, if there are NOT voltage in output the control board is faulty.

2) Test if there are voltage terminal motor, if there are the motor need to be test. Loose the belt and try again. and if the motor RUn YOU need to LUBE the deck belt board.

Start over by removing the belt.

Release the door from the trolley.

Then slide the door/trolly latch mechanism toward the motor assy half way,

Reinstall the belt but not the door to the trolley.

Ativate the remote and where the door stops, assuming it is closing , is the lower/closed limit.

Remove the belt, again.

Then side the door latch mechanism near the end of the trolley.

Reinstall the belt and activate the remote.

It should be close enough to fine tune using the limit switches.

Craftsman 1/2 hp garage door opener motor just buzzes when the remote is pushed no movement

Check to see if the trolley is jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. If so loosen the chain enough to remove the tension of the trolley. Now run the motor until the door closes. While the door is closed, locate the 'up limit' control on the side of the motor unit. Turn this control 2 full turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Tighten the chain.

If the door is in the open position the trolley is most likely jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. Loosen the chain until the pressure is off the trolley and then run the motor until the door is closed. While the door is closed locate the 'up force' control on the side of the motor unit and turn this control 2 complete turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Tighten the chain.

Check to see if the trolley is jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. If so, loosen the chain enough to ease the tension on the trolley and run the motor until the door closes. Hello. Plug the motor back in but do not attach the door to the trolley. See if the motor runs the trolley up and down. Also manually run the door up and down a few times to check and see if there is anything binding. If there is binding, find the problem, often a loose wheel, also grease the track and lube the wheels with WD-40 penetrating oil. Finally, if the motor runs the trolley up and down with no problem but bawks when the door is attached to the trolley your motor is on it;'s last legs and needs to be replaced. J.

If your door is stuck in the open position the trolley is most likely jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. You should be able to loosen the chain enough that it releases the pressure on the trolley and then close the door. While the door is closed, locate the 'up limit' control which is on the side of the motor unit. Turn this control 2 full turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover and then tighten the chain.

The LED flashing 5 times is the code for "RPM sensor or motor overload". Usually if it is the RPM sensor - which is a small printed circuit board just in front of the motor - it will run a few inches and then reverse. I doubt very much it is the motor. I would pull the logic board and check for loose or missing traces on the printed circuit. Especially if you have had any electrical storms or power surges.
