I've been fixing Lexmark T640's for a week now and Print Heads are easy!!! Don't let someone scare you into thinking you can't do it yourself just so they get more business and can over charge you to repair something!

1. Remove side and top covers
2. Remove cover for System Board
3. Unplug 7-pin connector from System Board. It's 6-white 1-black wires.
4. Remove connectors from Print Head, should be 2. 1 in front, 1 in rear.
5. Remove the 4 screws holding down the Print Head
6. Take out print head and insert new one.
7. Install by following directions in reverse! :-)

For this particular concern, there are complicated and sensitive parts involved. I suggest you contact the Authorized Service Provider or contact Lexmark Technical Support for assistance.

Lexmark c780n printer error

There are no "Print Heads" in a laser printer. You should contact Lexmark to resolve this issue. Laser printers are incredibly complex and jam packed with little bits and pieces so only the highly trained should ever attempt to service them. Lexmark may be able to refer you to a local authorized repair center that can repair the printer for you.

Service Fuser Error appears when the fuser does not warm to the required temperature. For this error on this Lexmark model T640n, the manual states you should power off the printer and power it back on, and if it is not plugged into a wall power point, change it to a power point mounted directly on the wall. Personally, I never got a Lexmark printer to work doing this, but this is in the manual. If this won't help, and the printer is under warranty, you should log it in with the servicing company.

If the printer is out of warranty, your next option is to change the fuser which costs around $350, so I think you would be better off getting a new printer unless you find a second hand one on Ebay.

A 920 fuser error indicates that the fuser unit in the printer is below the proper temperature for printing. Turn off the printer for 30 seconds. Bypass any surge device or power strips, plug the printer straight to the power outlet in the wall. Make sure the printer is an operating environment where the temperature is above 16°C (60°F). If none of the steps above correct the issue, the fuser unit or possibly the power supply unit on the printer will need to be replaced. This will require a service action on the printer. I hope I can assist you more on this.

I had a similar problem on a HP Laserjet printer. It turned out to be dust coating one side of the mirror in the laser assembly. It isn't difficult ot fix with the HPs, but I don't know specifically about the Lexmarks. I would imagine about the same difficulty level. Just make sure you don't put fingerprints on the mirror (you'll see them on every page printed).

I have a Lexmark T632 that is used very often. Constantly printing over 1000 pages daily and I always get the error message Print head Error 934 - Lost Lock condition but once I shut down the printer and...

These error codes indicate a problem with the mirror motor circuit in
the printhead assembly or the mirror motor cable to the system board
cable or system board assembly. Check the continuity of the mirror
motor cable connected to J5 on the system board. If incorrect,
replace the cable. The voltage at J5-7 measures approximately
+24 V dc. If incorrect, replace the system board. If correct, replace
the FRUs in the following order:
• System board
• Printhead assembly
