Question about Kitchen Ranges

2 Answers

I have a Hotpoint Cooker 6109, there is one loose wire, thick white one and I don't know where to re-attach it to. The cooker has never been used so this should be the only problem with it, it causes the oven not to work. Please help.

All that I find are instruction books, not service manuals. Its just one thick white wire that has come unattached at the top end that could re-attach to a number of places. Any advice would be much appreciated

Doing the best guess blew the fuses unfortunately, that why i am asking for a better clue please

  • janicecs Mar 26, 2008

that's not so helpful, i don't have a sixthe sense when it comes to electrics, i am afraid of blowing the whole thing!

The wire is from the oven and it's the one with heatproof insulation. It is loose in the switch area there are several terminals on the oven switch. They all trip the overlaod.

Wiring up

  • If it is a single oven attaching a 13amp plug and connecting it to a socket is fine. If it is a double oven it needs to be connected to a dedicated cooker circuit from your fuse board via a cooker control switch with 6mm twin and earth cable.

Slow Cooker Beeps only after a few minutes and won't stop.

4 years later... I'm pretty sure it has to do with liquid in the slow cooker (maybe relating to temperature also so it doesn't overheat/burn your meal?). I just threw in some short ribs and a thick (and somewhat scant for the cooker's capacity) bbq sauce. It started beeping and beeping and beeping at fairly frequent intervals. I added about a cup of hot water and the beeping stopped.

Hi,
Thermal Fuse Problem.
If there is no heat/power, check the continuity o the thermal fuse( white resistor type in the internal wiring connections ). Unscrew and open the cooker at the bottom side.
Replace it w/ similar temp. value.
DON'T SOLDER IT!

Hope that helps you out!
