I have the same model tiller, with the same problem. In my case, the teeth on worm gear part # 501002 stripped off. This tiller model is no longer listed on Ariens website, however the same parts were used on a few different models. I have the parts book with all of the part numbers, so I am able to search by part number. The worm gear, bearings, and seals are still available, but some parts are not. Hope this helps.
