It is not difficult.

Old switch

Remove the nut holding the cover in place and lift the plastic cover off. Inside there are 4 wire connections 2 line in black and white wire and 2 line out and a ground. Just make sure that you mark the in cord and the out cord. Once you have disconnected the wires use a wrench to unscrew the switch from the stand off tube to the pressure tank.

New switch

Apply a small amount of teflon pipe tape to the stand off pipe thread (Maybe 3 wraps) and install the new pressure switch.

If the old pressuer switch had an electrical box connector transfer the box connector to the new pressure switch.

Route the line in (power) and line out (Motor) cords making sure they pass through the hole in the side of the pressure switch. If the new switch has any rubber grommets make sure the wires are routed through the grommets.

Connect the line in and line out cords to the screws on the switch.
Install the plastic cover and retaining nut.

Test compressor by letting it run until the motor is shut off by the pressure switch.

If it shuts off too early (low pressure) open the cover and on the vertical threaded stem adjust it clockwise to increase pressure.

If pressure is too high adjust if counter clock wise.

The pressure switch usually comes with a data sheet. Follow instructions on the sheet.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Low oil pressure. Are you adding a lot of oil. Have you check the oil level. Switch could also be bad.

Hi,I got a Ingersoll Rand type 30 model 234 compressor. It looks good but it has no motor.I'm thinking like 120v,3horses?,but not sure about rpm.any help would be nice.thanks

According to the information you provided your looking at a 10 HP motor at three phase. Do you have three phase at your location? If not I would look into getting a single phase compressor. If you do want to get it going I would notify your local IR dealer so they can get you the right Model number, RPM, Pulley and Motor Frame Size to match your unit.

Please read below....Jim...if this helped you please send me a positive response...Thanks!

Air leaks from pressure switch after compressor builds full pressure

if its leaking steady from the unloading valve on the pressure switch after the compressor stops you have a bad check valve!replace it and youl be fine, dont forget to depressurize your tank before!!!!! and use teflon tape on the treads to avoid air leaks when you replace it!

I just bought a used ingersoll rand ss3L3 and need to know how to adjust the pressure regulator switch. Also how to set the high and low limits.

if you want more pressure out your hose use the outlet pressure regulator. if you want more or less air put in the tank you can try to adjust the pressure switch. different models are adusted in different ways. there may be a screw between the points that make contact. adjust it up or down to see the direction you need to go. some of these switches won't let you adjust or id they do it won't be much.

Cuts off with no reason

hi mate when the reach there working pressure e.g.150psi/10bar they shut off and then when the pressure drops to a pressure of e.g. 100 psi 7 bar they automatically start back up and pump back upto they working temperature or if it dont start at all it could either be a faulty pressure switch or a fualty star delta starter if its 3 phase 415 volts if its 240volt there are only a pressure switch which will be faulty get a sparky in to sort it out there buggers to mess with 415volts 240 volts easy
