Hi. I have 15kw TMC srl patio heater. Pilot ok, main burner low

Hi. I have 15kw TMC srl patio heater. The pilot lights immediately and burns well. The main burner sounds like its working, but only warms a little - never seems to get up to speed. No smell of gas. Thanks

The yhernocoupler would snuff the pilot if bad. What ignites the overhead burners? and what regulates the overhead gas supply? Look into this. Too much gas will not light as easily as proper balance gas and air. Even more so in a tower type heater.. Turn the gas on low and the pilot should grab it. Good luck

SOURCE: my patio heater model tmc s.s.l the pilot works

Hi,
That may have an oxygen sensor on it and if it gets dirt in it that will happen...
Take apart the pilot assembly and blow it out with high pressure air and then reassemble it...that should fix it...

Pilot gos out when burner shuts down wall furnice

Usually thats a sighn of a bad thermocouple, thats the copper tube that goes from the gas valve to the actual pilot assembly it senses that the pilot is burning and allows the main burner to light. If there is no pilot lit the bur will not light. Its there to keep you home from exploding from a release of gas with no pilot. The good thing is that most ofthem are universal and most water heaters use the same one. And you can buy one for a water heater at lowes or home depot for about ten bucks. If you get one thats longer than the origional thats ok because you can just coil it in a circle just be carefull and dont kink the tube,if you do kink it you must get another one. even if you straighten it.
It wont work. Hope that gets you going and warm.

My uniflame has two burners and one does not ignite. Everything seems to be tight. What can I do to get this to ignite when turning ignition knob? Thanks!

When you say two burners, I believe you are referring to the pilot flame and the main burner. The pilot flame has to light and heat the thermocouple befoe the main burner will ignite. The pilot flame will not light if: there is not enough gas in the tank, the pilot jet is clogged, or the regulator is bad. Check the tank to make sure it has gas. The next thing to check is the pilot jet. You have to take the heater apart, somewhat, to get to the pilot jet. The tube and the orifice need to be cleaned out, compressed air in a can and a pipe cleaner make the job a little easier. If this does not work, replace the reglator and hose.

The pilot seems to light but then when I turn the knob to ignite the main burner, the pilot goes out. Is there a technique to clean the igniting assembly?

let the pilot light burn for a few min and get hot after this try slowly moving the knob over to full burn. Sometimes it just need to heat up.

Have Endless Summer patio heater. I got the burner to run but after 3-5 minutes the heater shuts down. Also having problems getting the unit to fire after lighting pilot light Maybe thermo coupler?

It could be the thermocouple, but you have to take the head apart to replace it. If you got the main burner to fire, then the thermocouple is probably ok. Try changing the regulator, easy to do and not to expensive. If that doesn't work, try taking the head apart and cleaning the pilot and main burner orifices, do both while you are in there. If you are not comfortable doing this, hire someone.

The pilot light does not stay on so heater won't light.

to thermocouple where the pilot light sits is either dirty/carbon out of alignment flame not burning on it correctly or damaged/broken which would mean replacement

Propane patio heater ignition problem

I would change the thermocouple and here is why:

The thermocouple is the pilot's, well, co-pilot! It is the electronic device that senses if the pilot flame is hot enough to sustain burning the gas fuel from the burner. If the thermocouple thinks it's safe, then it keeps open the main gas valve located in the pilot assembly. If the thermocouple does not sense enough heat from the pilot flame (such as when the pilot is out), then the thermocouple shuts off the gas valve to the burners.
How the Thermocouple Works
So what is this thing and how does it work? Well the thermocouple (technically called a thermocouple junction) is a device that contains two metal wires welded at the ends and placed inside a protective metal case. The thermocouple sensor is found at the business end of the pilot flame and is designed to be placed in the hottest part of the flame. The other end is connected to the pilot valve body. As the thermocouple heats up, it produces a small amount of electricity and when it gets hot enough from the pilot, send a signal to open the gas valve by using a solenoid operated by a 24 volt transformer. The thermocouple calls the shots, and by converting heat to an electrical signal, it allows the gas valve to open or close. Once the gas valve is open, gas is then constantly supplied to the pilot and as required for the gas burners (as called for by the thermostat). If the pilot goes out, then the thermocouple gets cold and produces no electric signal to open the gas valve's solenoid and the gas valve shuts off the gas supply to the pilot and burners

Desa TD 104 Patio Gas heater

Sounds like you may not be getting enough gas up to the main burner. Bugs, such as spiders, love to make homes out of the main supply lines. Does your pilot light burn blue, and strong? If not, it may need to be cleared of the obstruction. Also, when opening the the gas tank valve, are you opening it slowly?
