Question about Kenmore Washing Machines
Tip unit back and lean against the wall so you can look under it.
check your drive coupler
take the pump off 2 clips push up on the top one and down on the bottom one.
take your motor down usually 2 clips and 2 screws
now on the other end of the motor you will see an attachment that is your drive coupler it's probably broken.the other side sits on the transmission....is the rubber ok? is the plastic ears ok?
if the answer is yes you may have a bad clutch whisch sits above the transmission.
if you have a bad clutch you are going to have to take the agetator off first..before dropping the trasmission.
First check the drive coupler part number for that is 285753a

It is so common that the drain leaks in many ways and is the most problematic fault in a washing machine. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that water has leaked then as the drain hose pump/valve and fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for possible leaks here. In some cases the drain hose would be clogged at the drain end to outlet of the house and so there will be back flushing resulting in overflow to the outside. Also the drain pump/valve can be clogged or the drain hose clamps can be loose on the grip which can all cause the leak to occurs. Removing and Cleaning the drain pump/valve, tightening of the hose is also very important. Also water can leak if there is gaps on the front door gaskets and must be checked but this will happen only during the cycle and not on the drain cycle end. You have indicated that the spin was activated to drain off and so the drain exit seems good . Hence I would advice that you check the drain hose fittings and drain pump. Check once again to confirm if this was a program controller malfunction of the cycle. finally keep your machine in slight slant /tilt so that the water drains off fully to the exit valve.
