Unable to broadcast everything locks up

I bought a new logitech quickcam IM a couple weeks ago. When I try to broadcast it tells me " A script in this movie is causing Flash Player to run slowly" and then everything locks up. I have to unplug the machine to get started again.I tried deleting Flash Player and the webcam software and reinstalling each but no change. Is there something wrong in the registry perhaps. It's driving me up the wall. I might want to git nekid on cam sometime but isn't any fun if can't make 'em watch.(smile) Thanks and I appreciate any help you can give. Later gator

I also just purchased a Logitech webcam IM, but my problem is that I can get as far as seeing myself on the monitor screen , but then thats as far as the small instructions book takes me. The few instructions only tell you how to connect the hardware and install the software, but not how to communiciate with my friends online and use the camera . Is there a users manual I can download. Thanks you for you help.

Ha, well at least you're honest about getting nekid..

What software / program are you trying to use to broadcast (yahoo, msn, ec)?

I would love to pay the paltry sum for experts advice on my problem but I'm in between jobs and broke on my watchacallit at the moment which is why I haven't just dumped the machine at a local fixit shop(smile) Mr. Mewms_14904 did offer a solution which I thought just might do the trick but 'the story remains the same'. I just appreciate having someone take a shot at it for me. Thanks much. Robert

Normal 0 Web Camera’s have to besetup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up tobroadcast on messengers or Skype.

Each program has Options that have to be setup in order forthe Audio and Video to function properly.

A. Skype Setup:

After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/) set it up as follows:

  1. Go to Tools, then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
  2. Then click on the Video Settings.
  3. The camera if Installed Properly will come up and show a video picture.
  4. Then, on the bottom of the page click on Save.

The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able tosee and her to you.

B. Yahoo Setup:

After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger (http://www.soft32.com/download_30.html) set it up as follows:

  1. Go to Messenger at the top left and click on it.
  2. Next go down to Preferences and click on it.
  3. Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
  4. Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on “Open the call setup assistant” and follow the instructions on the left window.

C. Windows LiveMessenger:

  1. After you start Windows Live Messenger, expand the view by clicking on the square on top left next to the red X.
  2. Then on the Windows Live messenger window on the right side, click on “ “Show Menus.” And then click on “Show the Menu Bar”.
  3. Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on “ “Action.”
  4. Go to “TOOLS” and click “Audio and Video Setting” and follow the instructions.
NOTE: Your audio andvideo should work. Enjoy.

When done both the Audio and Video will function properly soyou can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.
Hopethis helps. Bud

Windows Media Encoder enables the ability for you to "LIVE" broadcast using your webcam utilising Windows Media Encoder 9 and your participant viewers watching you using Windows Media Player at the recieving end. So in other words, you are effectively setting up "your own" live streaming broadcasts either video, audio(such as internet radio) or both from your PC without using the likes of Skype, Yahoo, IM etc.
