To make sure your interenet is secure on a wireless router, consult your owners manual for the device (you can also download the PDF from belkin.com support page if you need.)

You will need to log into the router setup from a connected computer, and in the setup either set a WEP or WPA key. Once set you simply go to your wirless and choose connect to the router and enter the key, make sure you check the box to save the key and then you should be good.

BE SURE to write the key down somewhere for your reference so you don't have to keep changing it if something gets changed on one of the computers.

Where is the administration located?

You need to encrypt your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from Belkin to your laptop/computer's LAN port, open a browser on your laptop/computer and enter the Belkin's configuration URL. http://192.168.2.1
The default PW = blank (just press Enter) You can now change the default admin password.
You can now configure the wireless settings to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access. Now configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings. To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

I am using a Belkin Wireless G Plus Router connected to my Virgin cable. I have had no problems with the router for 3 years however in the last month it stops working. To reconnect it needs powered off and...

From your explanation what i got is the router is not working and needs to be rebooted to start working. There is no changes done into the configuration.

In this case i suspect some software bug in the router.
I will recomend to backup your configuration and then reset once the router.
Remember if you reset the router the router will go to factory default settings and will loose all the configuration. you need to reconfigure that from the configuration backup you have taken recently.

How do i block someone from illegally stealing my wireless intern

Hello,

You have two options to stop someone from stealing your wireles connection.

The first is to use a more secure encryption.
Use WPA2 personnal with AES encryption.
You can set this security mode by logging on to your router and changinhg the wireless security.

The next solution is to turn on MAC filtering and make sure her computer is not listed as a safe MAC address.
This is also turned on from the router.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Pat
