4-12x40 means that the scope will magnify from 4 times to 12 times actual size. So you can zoom from 4 times closer to 12 times closer. Simple answer - Yes!

The 4-12 X 40 means 4 time magnification to 12 times magnification with a 40 mm objective lens.

This indicates that you can zoom from 4-12 times the unmagnified size of your subject.

Short answer - Yes!

I have played a Taylor 510 for about 20 years and I need to send back to Taylor for some need repairs. I know it will take 3-6 months to get it back and I am thinking about buying a Takamine ESN10c to use...

My son has a Takamine acoustic/electric. He plays in a band an is very accomplished. He and I both like the Takamine. He had a Fender acoustic/electric and sold it to keep the Tak. I have a hand made acoustic that I play at church. I like his Taka better. And I'm sure it's cheaper than another Taylor. The Tak. doesn't compare to the Taylor but it is a nice guitar and the electronics are good. One guy's opinion.

Thanks for using FixYa.

My Taylor 754-27 on the right side will stop workng just as the porduct gets up to consistancy. Do you think it is a weak or bad motor. The motor just stops and then when the product starts to warm up I...

Hi Lori and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly,

If you have someone capable of swapping controllers between units move the controllers side to side by exchanging positions. I think you have a controller problem. Via the viscosity control (soft / hard) it senses amperage of the motor while in use. You either have a bad controller or a bad temp control. If you swap controllers and the problem persists then the temp control is bad. If the symptom changes to the other side then the controller is bad.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

I have a Redfield 3x 9x riflescope with a bent horizontal cross-hair. It is an old scope I've had for years. I was wondering if it is covered by warranty? If so,where do I send it for repair?

Redfield was purchased by Leupold in 2008, and is only able to repair and service Redfield scopes made in 2010 or later. If it was made before 2010, then it isn't covered by warranty, but Leupold does suggest contacting Iron Sight, Inc, if you want to ask about repairs and associated costs. Here's what the Redfield/Leupold website says:

When Leupold & Stevens, Inc.® purchased Redfield in April 2008, it did not acquire the capability to repair Redfield products manufactured prior to this purchase. The repair tooling and parts were purchased years ago by other repair services. Leupold & Stevens, Inc. will service its manufactured Redfield product (manufactured from 2010 forward) in accordance with its published warranty.
At this time, should a non-Leupold & Stevens, Inc. Redfield product require service, we suggest contacting Iron Sight, Inc. (918) 445-2001. This contact is provided for information purposes only, as Iron Sight Inc. is not affiliated with Leupold & Stevens Inc. They should be contacted directly for all information regarding repair, service and associated charges.
