Is it a conventional tap with the 3 pipes or just the one hole in the middle with a cover for the other holes in a replacement? Are the nuts on the bottom of the pipes? To tighten it up? Or did the plumber just put on the supply lines and hope that would work?? Check it out, I made a wrench out of a piece of 1 inch pvc schedule 80, cut a slot with the band saw on one side about 4 inches for the supply line, then cut out the other side about 1 inch for the wing on the nut. It worked perfect. I couldn't get up there to replace the faucet, and that wrench with the T-handle didn't do diddly. Check it out, see what he did under there and tighten it up. Hope this helps.

A "basin wrench" is the special tool you need. They are pretty cheap. Any hardware or home improvement store carries them. They might even have them at Walmart. Google images for basin wrench and you will see lots of illustrations, including how to use it. Good luck Please vote if you found this helpful Al K

The base of the faucet which fastens to the top of the granite is loose and moves around. Is there a nut under the faucet that tightens to keep it firm to the granite? How do I fix this?

yes there is, with a pair of slip joints you can tighten from underneath, it is above the supply line, the best thing to do is turn off the water, disconnect the supply line and tighten the nut, then reconnect the supply line and turn back on the water. Good Luck Tim

The faucet should have come with a rubber gasket which goes between the faucet body and the granite top. Make sure it's properly aligned and has not slipped out of place. Be carefull when tightening the faucet to the granite, since granite is easily cracked.

Hi While I try to rotate the tap , the whole base is rotating with it ( delta 470 ss)

A "basin" wrench will be needed to get up under the sink/faucet base to tighten the nuts that hold the faucet in place. It's a simple job but requires the agility of a contortionist to get at.

I have a Moen Monticello bathroom faucet. I am

Moving left to right: I am not an expert, but I have installed a fair number of faucets. Seems like a basic issue of just getting under the sink and tightening up. Make sure someone is topside to assure the faucet stays straight and does not move as you tighten up below. It is never easy to get a wrench and your hands in the proper position to tighten up the nut, but don't give up try a smaller Channel lock wrench if necessary.

It appears that the seal at the base of the tap is worn or the screw collar is loose - try hand-tightening it. It may cure your problem. Plumbers tape is a white tape that helps seal water pipe joints!

Can't tighten single handle moehn kitchen faucet

there is supposed to be a nut with a washer under the sink in the center, the metal plate is just for decoration, the nut and washer have to be installed before the sprayer is attached the stem that it connects to has threads on it for the nut your faucet should have came with a long socket made of plastic to install the nut
