Question about Fisher and Paykel OS302SS, Stainless Steel Single Oven

Open Question

Fisher and paykel oven fan will not turn off. If has been getting progressively worse. Eventually it will turn off... but this time it's been going for 24 hours. We are selling our house and don't want to have to pay hundreds to have something simply "annoying" fixed. Turning off at the main does nothing. It is the top fan not the back fan. It use to be that slamming the door a few times fixed it... now it's not stopping it at all PLEASE HELP!!!

SOURCE: Oven Fan

my fan took 30 minutes after cooking to turn off. i think it may have to do with the fact that it is trying to cool the oven?
just wait for 30minutes - 1hr to see if it stops and open the oven door all the way to speed up the cooling

Yes the regulators/simmerstats are stuffed but are not hard to replace...but please turn off the power 1st when removeing the backing plate as you will kill yourself....yes you will.
Use a multimeter set on volts ac or a volt detector stick, test tester on a known live sourse 1st like a power point....switched on

get an electrician in to fix it
the red wire is normally the active (power wire) and the blue is the neutral wire
if you fit the blue to a red terminal then you could be dead, blow the circuit or blow a circuit breaker
be safe call an electrician

Possibly a burnt out fan element. You or a service person needs to test the element & wiring with a multimeter.

FIRST YOU NEED TO KNOW JUST HOW THE FAN WORKS, DOES IT WORK OFF OF ELECTRICITY OR IS THERE A COMPUTER CHIP IT WORKS OFF OF. DOSE IT WORK OFF OF JUST A SWITCH. LOOK UP ON LINE TO FIND A MANUAL FOR A FISSER & PAYKEL B1602CTE IT MAY TELL YOU WHY IT IS NOT WORKING.

How do I replace the fan in a Fisher & Paykel 60cm oven

ill assume your referring to the cooking fan you see inside the oven and not the outer cooling fan, you will need to turn the breaker off outside to cut power to the oven then you will have to take the oven out of the wall and remove the back cover then its normally just 3 screws and the nut on the inside of the oven that holds the fan blade on (which is reverse threaded by the way) and it should come out

Oven fan does not turn off when oven turned off.

  • The fan runs on for a while after the oven is switched off to cool the oven compartment. It does go off eventually. This is the case for al fan ovens. I hope this helps

Fisher and Paykel Paprika Oven Top Elements Full hot!!

No controller. The switch for each element (called a simmerstat) is what controls the heat. It is a common fault and will be fixed if you instal new simmerstat for each faulty element.
