Question about Dell Inspiron 1501 Notebook
This is only a guess, but try the following:
Go to Control Panel -> Mouse -> Pointer options tab.
Uncheck "Automatically move pointer to the default...."
and press OK.
A "last resort solution" will be to uninstall the smartpad's driver, restart the computer then reinstall it. I advise you, in any case, downloading the latest driver for it from here. Make sure to select the appropriate operating system you have.
