There is a small computer chip controlling the central locking system. The only way you can make the central locking system not function any more is by removing the chip or disconnecting it. However, there is a safety measure all cars have that won't allow you to start your car any more if you don't have that chip working. Therefore, if someone were to tamper with your chip, then he/she would first have to take out the ceiling to get to the chip and then, under the hood, remove the sensor measuring the engine's rpm (in order to do that, you have to cut out a hole in the thick metal casing hosting the sensor). So, no. Not without you being aware of it.

Its possible. If the central locking is playing up, the security system that the central locking is connected to may stop the car from starting as it may think someone is trying to steal the car?

2005 Chevrolet Silverado Automatic door locks

I assume you mean that the central locking system will not lock the doors but you can do so manually.

Get inside the vehicle and close all doors.

On each rear door, lock and unlock the mechanism manually a couple of times. In other words do not use the key pad.

Then leave both rear doors in the locked position (manual locking) and operate the lock button on you key pad to operate the central locking system. Wait a few seconds then hit unlock on your key pad and a few seconds later hit lock on your key pad.

If the system fails to lock your rear doors you will need to get the vehicle to an auto electrician to check out the issue and rectify it for you. There are a number of possible causes which cannot be identified without physically checking the system. So you will need to have this rectified by a professional.

Without diagnosing this problem myself, the possible causes are MANY!
Best solution is take the vehicle into a Hyundai Dealership and have it diagnosed/troubleshot by a qualified technician.
