Question about Sanyo MM-7400

1 Answer

Sanyo 7400 Hi, I have a Sanyo 7400 when I go to charge it...it will start charging for around 1 minute.... then a message comes up that says...battery low, please recharge soon and it stops charging. I just bought a new battery and it is doing the same thing. I have tried a 3 different charges and 2 batteries, with the same results? Is it an easy fix? or should I get a new phone?

The charging circuit has failed; time for a new phone.

I love my BBW MM-7400, had mine for years…

Great phone; never a problem with her.

Check the idle rpm (efi around 900 rpm ) carby around 750-800rpm. Very few alternators charge under 750 rpm as it requires 14 volts to charge the battery and at low revs the alternator will be producing around 11.5-12 volts. Check tension and condition of drive belt.

2003 mazda tribute, occasionally won't start. fuel pump replaced about 1 month ago. bad starter?

Many batteries may only last around three years. Check battery voltage at rest before starting. Any voltage in the low 12v range may be a sign of a faulty battery. If low voltage present, then perform a parasitic drain test:1) Disconnect battery POSITIVE terminal and connect ammeter in series, between battery positive terminal and positive lead.
DO NOT START THE VEHICLE!!

2) With all vehicle doors closed, alarm off, lights off, radio off, and all other accessories off, wait for around 20 minutes and then read the ammeter. A healthy system should read about 0.03 amps and little more. If reading more, then the vehicle could be suffering a parasitic amp drain, and you will need to locate this issue.

3) Reconnect battery when finished.

If no major parasitic drain present, yet low battery voltage then:

4) With vehicle started, check the voltage charge from the alternator. Connect voltmeter to battery terminals and take reading. A healthy system should be charging in the range of 14volts or down to around 13.5 volts. If reading around 12 volts only, then check and replace alternator.

Put camera in cradle to charge. red light comes on for about 5 secs, then goes out. can't get camera to take a charge...

try connecting a 9volt battery with a couple of jumper wires to the correct terminals on the battery for about 30 seconds then put it on charge(positve to positive negative to negative) if the battery is to low the charger won't pick it up and start the charging cycle by connecting the 9volt to it t will put a small charge to it to start the charger
