Question about Iomega (33654) Limited Edition 500 GB USB Hard Drive
My Omega mdhd-up has been fine for about 14 months then as i was moving some files onto it,it kept tripping out saying destination could not be found but then i would switch it off and on and it would work again.But now its not being recgonized my the pc and it is freezing the pc so it i s just on egg timer the whole time and then if i disconnect and re-boot pc all is working fine i have tried on 2 x pcs and its the same on both.All i want is to save the photos of it as i didn t back them up as i am a idiot!!!!!!
Any ideas would be greatly recieved

go to my computer and then click on the icon for that drive. look for the back up files dated july 3rd. if they are not there your back up failed at that time.

if you format the drive you will loose all the data on the drive. save the file on a different computer before you format it. later you can transfer them back. (please rate me if this helps Thank you)

With the drive plugged in, going into your Applications ' Utilities ' Disk Utility Select the drive and press Verify Disk, Repair Disk and Repair Permissions. If you don't have anything on the drive right now, try formatting it with the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) file system from the Disk Utility.
If that doesn't work the drive may be damaged. If you have another PC / Mac, trying plugging it in and see if it works there. If the drive is under 1 year old it should still be under warrantee, in which you could return it / RMA and get a new one sent back from the manufacture.
