I own a Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop with windows vista OS. I had to boot into safe mode to remove an MP3 file from Limewire that was corrupt and now my computer rebbots into safe mode all the time. I have tried to boot in normal mode, i have tried system restore but nothing works. my virus scan no longer works, i can not access the internet for online solutions. Basically I am locked in safe mode and can't seem to fix it.

1) For first level of troubleshooting i would like to request you to perform the following and please revert what you are getting. Switch ON
the PC, boot the PC in 'Safe Mode' by continuously tapping F8 button after you
switch On until you get the Safe Mode Option.
Let windows boot in Safe Mode and log in to windows.
Please restart in the safe mode once. And run a virus scan after that turn off your laptop and turn it on again now don't go into the safe mode just start the windows normally, enter your password and see if you face the same problem.
If it won't let you go to safe mode, then there's something that the BIOS(setup) or Boot Manager needs before starting the operating system(Windows Vista). You should have a Toshiba Recovery Disk which will fix this . The disk will not touch any of your current files and data,so don't worry about that.
Hi Good day!!! Try to boot in safe mode, to boot from safe mode, do this: while booting just keep pressing f8 button until advanced boot menu appear after that choose safemode. after that your OS will boot in safemode. if not booting there should be a files missing in your OS you will need to repair it using a CD of you OS. reply to me to help you more
When the machine first starts again it will generally list some equipment
that is installed in your machine, amount of memory, hard drives installed
etc. At this point you should gently tap the F8 key repeatedly
until you are presented with a Windows XP Advanced Options menu.
Select the option for Safe Mode using the arrow keys.
Then press enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode.
Do whatever tasks you require and when you are done reboot to boot back
into normal mode.
If your computer boots then lockup, try this: When your computer boots, press F8 to enter boot selection. Then select Safe Mode. Try to uninstall your newly installed software or hardware that might be causing the problem. Then reboot. If it persists, try using "Last Known Good Configuration"
Another option is to reinstall your OS. Last bad option though. Good luck
Hold down the number "0"key and continue to hold it down as you turn on the laptop. Keep holding the key and then if the laptop makes a sound let go and hopefully it will go into the internal factory restore for your laptop.
If it doesn't then you'll need to restore your laptop with your recovery disks.
Either way the hard drive needs to be wiped out in order to get rid of the virus since it did irrepairable damage to the operating system.
If you need help with restoring your laptop back to factory defaults, let me know and I'll walk you thru it.
