The internet is connected to the network is working fine and the printers were connected and working before I had this problem. I have 2 computers hard wired, 1 wireless laptop and had 2 printers hard wired (plus the adsl modem). Tx!

Hello

Double check the IP Address info for both printers - ensuring the IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway are configured correctly. Printers should never use DHCP - so this info should be configured as a static IP.

Also, try moving the connections for the printers to different ports on the router. It is possible that the router may be going bad and the printer ports are the first to show the signs.

One final tip - power cycle the router. I have used D-Link for over 8 years and have had to power cycle their routers and hubs occasionally as they sometimes lock up. This typically affects all ports - so this is probably not the cause of your issue but power cycling the device may help resolve the issue.

I have a Panasonic KX FLB881 MFC Laser Printer purchased in 2/09. Problems started about 60 days ago. Incoming fax calls ring and ring and the unit will not pick-up. Shortly thereafter network...

The printer has gone into cascade failure, it would require circuit boards to be replaced and with the history I would use it strictly as a printer. The cost of repair would put you over the price you originally paid for the unit, and as you pointed out the mechanics of the item is still fine, I agree with the fact use it until it breaks down.

Hi There.. Please follow te below steps..

1) Connect your old computer to the wireless network. Nowadays most people use the internet through a wireless network. So basically, if you have wireless internet and you are able to get on the internet... that means you are connected.

2) Go into the networks settings. This is usually as simple as right clicking the network's icon and then clicking properties. What you want to do is turn on, "file and printer sharing" within the network

3) Now, go to the folders/data that you want to transfer. Right click or get into the properties of that folder. Check the box that says "share this folder with network".

4) On the new computer, connect to the wireless network. Under control panel or possibly the start menu, there should be an option for "My Network Places" or "My Network". In this folder you should find the data that you chose to share from your old computer. You can simply copy/paste or drag/drop the files to your new computer.

Now you are offset to transfer the files from one laptop to another...

hi there,

Because printers and networks vary, the best instructions for setting up and networking your printer should be in its users manual. Also, your network-ready printer may have come with installation software that can help you share the printer over the network.

There are three main steps you need to take when networking a printer, including the following: Enable the File And Printer Sharing setting, Make the printer available to all users, and Direct PCs to the printer.

For detailed instructions on sharing printers at home, please refer to the "Get Your House In Order" article in the "See Also:" section below.

How to install the lexmark E120 network printer

to clarify this, you need to install the printer in a computer that is connected to a Local Area Network lets call it computer 1. Once the printer is connected to the computer 1, share the printer by going to the start/settings/ printers. Right click on the lexmark e120 printer and click share. Click share this printer. Once done the printer that is connect to computer 1 is now on the network. on the other computer lets call it computer 2, to to start/settings/printer and click add printer/ select network printer and then browse the printer in the network and select it so that it will be added. Now you computer 2 has a network printer installed. try printing, make sure not to turn off the computer 1 when printing, or else it wont print.

We need to print from wireless laptop .help please

Hi,

I am assuming that:
1. There is installed a shared printer in one of the other computers in your network; or
2. The shared printer is connected to a Wireless USB Printer Server;
3. The laptop can connect to the network and is authorized to access/use shared resources.

Procedure would be identical to installing a printer. Follow on screen instructions. Click on Start, Printers & Faxes, Add a Printer, Next, tick "A network printer....", tick "Browse for a printer", Next, Select printer choice, Next, OK, make default, print test page. It might take a bit of time while drivers are copied from the printer server to your laptop. In some printer that is directly connected to the network, you need to pop in the CD that came with that printer and install. Thereafter, you need to change the port setting in the Printer Properties to TCP/IP and point to the assigned IP address of the printer.

Hope this be of some help/idea. pls post gain how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Network keeps dropping out.

Yes, you are correct in stating that one has to be the master, and one needs to be the slave. Normally, if you go to the manufactures website, and look for documentation on that model of switch, it will walk you through step by step on installation and re-installation. I have personally downloaded documentation from the Cisco website for setting up a large network. Try that, if you have further questions, please respond back.
