I'm encountering dll errors when I try to access Internet Explorer, even though I'm connected to the modem. How do I fix this?

Does Internet Explorer start or does it fail to load and displays the .dll error message?

Typically, .dll error messages are caused by 1. out of date Operating System, 2. viruses / spyware / malware on the computer that have over-written valid .dll files, 3. a failed program install

Since IE came with the OS, options 1 or 2 are more likely the cause of the problem. And, yes, you can still get viruses / spyware / malware while on a modem.

Make sure your antivirus is up to date and scan your hard drive for viruses (if you do not have an antivirus program - get one for free - search for AVG)

Make sure you have a spyware /malware detection program, update it and scan your system for spyware/malware (free from Microsoft - search for Windows Defender, other companies also offer free personal versions)

Very important - do both steps above, reboot and repeat 3 times. The computer holds the settings from the last 3 successful reboots, called Control Sets, in the Registry. Scanning the current Control Set only cleans it. It does not clean the other sets and viruses /spyware / malware can be re-introduced to your system if you perform a "Last Known Good" boot or use System Restore to restore your system to a previous date.

Order Number:246889. I have not received my answer. Problem is a DLL ERROR ~ not printer. littlecaesar@atc.cc My problem is a script error (IE frame.dll error) Please give answer by email promptly !!


  1. Restart your computer unless you've already done so. The ieframe.dll error might be a fluke and a simple restart could clear it up completely.

  2. Install the latest version of Internet Explorer. No matter if you're missing ieframe.dll or if you're receiving a browser error message about it, reinstalling or updating to the latest version of Internet Explorer has resolved many user's issues with ieframe.dll.

  3. Using Visual Basic 6? If so, change the reference for Microsoft Internet Controls from the existing ieframe.dll to shdocvw.ocx. Save your project and then reopen it.

  4. Restart your router, switch, cable/DSL modem and anything else that's used to communicate to the Internet or other computers on your network. There may be an issue in one of these pieces of hardware that a simple restart could solve.

  5. Scan your entire computer for viruses. Sometimes, the ieframe.dll error will show up when your computer is infected with certain kinds of viruses. Use your antivirus software to do a complete system scan for virus infections.

  6. Disable Windows Firewall in Windows XP if you have another firewall installed. Running two firewall applications at the same time can cause problems so if you have a firewall program installed like ZoneAlarm, Norton Personal Firewall, Comodo Firewall, etc., then you should not be running Windows's built-in firewall simultaneously.

Please follow steps to resolved issue

The Solutions to MSN Error Code 8004882080048820_lan.jpg Internet Explorer - Try removing the tick next to Internet Explorer 'Proxy server' settings, instead, go with the 'Automatically detect settings'.
1) Launch Internet Explorer, click Tools and then click Internet Options.
From the Internet Options dialog box, go to the Connections tab.
Click LAN Setting. Un check the Use a proxy server for your LAN (These settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections) checkbox. Finally positively tick: 'Automatically detect settings'.
2) Register softpub.dll.
Click Start (Button), and then click Run, type regsvr32 softpub.dll. Restart MSN Messenger. See also Error code 81000314
3) If necessary, logon as a local administrator and set the computer's clock to the correct date and time. (Check on the internet if possible.)
4) Turn off the firewall temporarily. Check firewall settings such as Norton: "Block access to secure sites". If this cures the problem, make sure that Microsoft's MSN Messenger is allowed full access through your firewall.

When I'm on Internet Explorer, an error box will randomly pop up saying "Runtime error 217 at 0357FD29". When I close out of it, it will pop up shortly afterward. It doesn't seem to affect Explorer in any...


Don't worry, with respect to processor functioning, RAM concepts and common usage of dll since it may due to

1.faulty trying of installation of programms
2.unexpected preventing some dll during installation

so when it comes again, try to place lower - right corner rather than getting regular pop-up, have fine

Internet Explorer cannot display the web page


I've been having the same problem after I change my Aztech router to D-Link. I hope these can help you because my problem solved after doing it.

Go to Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings and make sure you check the 'Automatically detect settings' option box and the other two boxes is left unchecked. Good luck!!!
