Check your wiring and speakers for shorts. if your wiring and speakers are good, you probably have a bad output ic in the deck which will need to be replaced.

Kenwood KDC-MP732 CD Player in protect mode how do i get it off had a blown speaker fixed it and still in protect mode

Protect Mode (Blink): The speaker wire has a short-circuit or touches the chassis of the vehicle, and then the protection function is activated.

Solution: Wire or insulate the speaker cable properly and press the reset button.

Here is a copy of the Instruction Manual for the Kenwood KDC-X790 and KDC-MP732.

Kdc-mp2032 how do i get it out of protect mode

Check your speaker connections, you've got a short. Check for loose tape on any connection. Fairly common problem. If your unit is Code Protected.. Try entering the code first, If you have a code, keep it handy, any time you jump start or loose power to the radio, it needs to be re entered before it will work again. Hope this helps

Cd player comes up with ''PROTECT''

one of your speaker wires to the internal amp is shorted. turn power off and make sure they are not touching metal or each other and then hit reset again. if this doesn't help your power ic may be fried inside the stereo or a speaker is shorted.

Wiring instructions for kenwood kdc-mp8533

dark blue is the remote for the amp
light blue is the remote for a power ant. (or amp)
orange is for the light dimmer (when you turn your lights on it will not be so bright, optional)
black is ground
brown is if you have a button in your car for a cell phone it will mute it when pushed (optional)
red is power (acc power)
yellow is always on power(for the clock and presets)
the rca jacks are for the amp they should be used if using an amp (there wattages are preset for amps anyway)

hook up the rca's to your amps along with the dark or light blue wires and when you turn the stereo on the amp will come on everything else should be hooked up as stated above. Hope this helps.

Security Code for Protect mode

Turn on the car so the radio is flashing "Protect." Look on the front / removable face of the stereo. On it you will find a small round hole - that's a reset button. Find a small paper clip, unfold the clip and stick it gently into the hole. The "Protect" will stop flashing, and Kenwood will be displayed. Unfortunately all your settings/presets will be gone, but at least the stereo is working again!
