Two things can be the cause here.

1. CCD sensor witch takes the raw to the LCD output
2. LCD display went bad on you and would need to be replaced.

if your camera takes pictures and you can see the on a computer then you lcd is a goner if you cannot see the image on a computer the you got a CCD sensor gone.

Thanks very much but I am sure ether way here your going to need a camera shop, please be considerate and rate your free answer today.

If the menu shows, then the LCD works works. It appears the sensor is bad. Is the camera actually taking pictures? Download them from the memory card to a computer and look at them to see. If they're all black or if the camera isn't taking pictures at all then the problem is more serious than the LCD.

Given the age of the camera, I suspect repairing/replacing the sensor would cost more than getting a new camera.

My HP Compaq 6730b screen isn't coming on. All the

Does it seem like the laptop booted up all the way except the screen is black? If so try the steps below:

Shine a flashlight on the dark screen to see if you barelysee the icons on the desktop. If so, then the LCD Inverter is bad.

Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can beany kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vgacable to connect to your computer's vga port. If so that proves yourvideo card is ok. The video will show on most systems when you rebootwithout you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN(Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correctkey for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key willnormally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

If you see no icons by shinning a flash light and the external monitor works, then your screen is bad. If you see no icons by shinning the flash lightand nothing shows on the external monitor, then most likely your video card isbad.

When i take photos it shows black screen samsung I85

Hi David:
If you can check menu settings there, isn't the LCD screenviewer issue; then sound like a malfunctioning CCD (Charge Coupled Device) image sensor... in both cases (LCD or CCD) this isn't a job that you could solve yourself; this wrong include distorted images or abnormal colors, scratchy purple lines, blank or black pictures, and/or black videos with good sound being recorded on the camera's flash card.

I suggest check this link for additional details in this previous solutions for an Defective CCD and next contact your Canon service.
I strongly suggest (taking into consideration the age of your camera) to evaluate the cost of repair versus the cost of a new camera with similar features, before making a final desicion.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

No Image on screen, Faint inage on the screen when held in front of a light, Outputs to external monitor, when you toggle Fn & F2 screen flashes on for a second

Hi

This is an inverter problem normally. But still there are ways to diag. the problem please follow the below steps just to rule out the bad inverter.

1. Try to check if the small button used by the LCD to turn off the LCD back-light is stuck. you can find it in some corner or little adjust-cent to the power button.

2. The signal cable connecting from motherboard to the LCD may be loose.

3. If your power adapter is not supplying enough power to the motherboard will also effect the brightness.

4. Make sure you have used the option to bright the back-light by using Fn+f4 or f7 in some laptops.

A spot developed in center of screen next day black lines across screen from the original spot

it sounds like you have a small crack on your screen that has gotten worse over time, these black areas are where the lcd crystals aren't active anymore, unfortunately there isn't allot you can do apart from buy a new screen or put up with the black lines.

Only used a few times and the power is on but nothing showing on the screen and theres no sound its a black ds lite

The reason the screen isn't showing-up is probably because of runny colors or blotchy colors permanently stained on the screen, even when the Nintendo DS Lite is OFF, my guess is that the liquid crystal display (LCD) is cracked. And also, there are multiple reasons for your speakers not working properly. The main reasons for the speakers not working would be the following;
  • Something small must have gotten wedged inside of the speakers.
  • A type of liquid and/or sticky substance leaked into speakers.
  • Lots of pressurized force on upper screen(which could have also caused the damage done to the screen).
What I would recommend is make an appointment with "Nintendo customer service".

Viewfinder and LCD screen only show black and record black

If camcorder shows old recorded tapes picture with correct colors in LCD but does not show live view in camera mode to record new movie then its ccd imager chip failure.
And if camcoder shows live view and old recorded tapes in its eye piece view finder but does not show any thing in LCD the its problem of broekn/ cracked flexible wire between lcd board and main board of camcorder.
Let me know your finding with bit detail to provide you solution/ helpful info.
