Hi,

There could be Few Things :-

1. If the Lamp has not been Replaced for the Last ONE year, it would be a suspect.

2. As there is a Pop Sound, i have mostly seen it, if the Color Wheel is at Fault.

3.Sometimes, Ballast is at Fault.

Other than this, there are Few Other Reasons.

I would Certainly Recommend a Tech to Diagnose rather than Purchasing these. These TV's have High Voltage, even while Unplugged. I usually do not Advise, unless you have TV Repair Experience to Inspect, Test and Replace Component.

The Reason i mentioned 3 Reasons, - Pop Sound is Usually with Color Wheel. But, Intermittent On and Off Problem is with Lamp. In your Case, it is Both. So, we need to check all these Components, Switches. Wiring, Power Supply to make sure that there is no other Fault.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

I have a few questions if you can please answer:

1) How long since the lamp was replaced?

2) When the set works to you hear anything unusual like a fan like or high pitched whine?

Let me know as much as you can as the more you can tell me the better the chance that I can solve your problem.

Yes, allow it takes a few minutes for me to get your comment.

Life span on the lamps is less than 2,000 hours and this normally means 18 months for the average user.

I would suspect the lamp. They way these sets all work is the set develops about 14,000 volts to fire the lamp up and the two wires that look like spark plug wires deliver it.

Someone may have to look at the lamp as the set turns on to see if the pop is coming from it, there is not much else in the set that will cause a pop you can hear.

We bought a big buddy 2 days ago and now it wont work.

Push red button down to start, maybe 3 times, then push red button down HALF way down then turn to low.
IT COULD BE YOUR PROPANE TANK, got a new one but had problems, so I left it on all night and it lit in the morning.
BUT when I got it filled the next time the man said the stem in the tank might need to take it outside and bang the tank several times, stem in the top gets stuck a lot he said.
But last is to take the tank outside and use a flat head screwdriver and turn the screw? on the side where the hose would be connected to let some out.

Ford f150 shut off driving

What you describe is exactly what happens when an electronic ignition goes south. If it has a carb, though, it could be any number of things. Also, when an electronic ignition goes out - it stays out. There is no intermittent functioning. Sorry I can't be of help. Good luck.

The guide menu keeps popping up and it loses the remote programing. I cleared it out once by pressing several buttons, including the power and mute button simultaneously until I gained remote control...

You have bad switches inside the tv. When a switch gets stuck nothing else will work including the remote. In other words, the microprocessor can take only one command at a time. Replace all the switches at one time to avoid trouble later.

It sounds to me like your cable is loose to the lcd or the video card is not properly 100 percent seeded into the mother board. Prolly the cable in one way or the other, perhaps bad cable.

Loss of Power

You might want to unlpug the powercord for the night, then plug it back in the next morning. Some times that can help reset things. If that still doesnt do the trick, you might have a faulty power cord. If it does this with every source you hook up to your TV then that would be a sign that its something in the set vs. your external source.
