there mire be a short in your system it would involve taking the screen off and checking the woring inside it. its pretty straight forword. get a small screwdriver and find the screw on the lid. there usually under the rubber stoppers. they mite be different screws then a philips +. so be prepaired to buy a new screwdriver if needed. makke sure all the screws are out before you attempt to pop out the cover. once the screw are out the screen will probably take a liittle prying to get it off because of the clicks holding it on. but once its off there will probably be a few open cords touching. just make sure there arent touching and the power is off befor you attempt to touch the cords. if you can not locate the smoke turn the system on and see where its coming from. be sure not to touch any wireing while the system is on. when you locate it jsut tape it up with some electrical tape.

you can try to recalibrate the touch screen to see if that works,
Start> settings> display> calibrate
* since screen is not working you will have to go the long away and use buttons on phone and nav wheel to get to these options
Had the same thing happen to me. All you have to do is use a pen or a paper clip and push the reset button located on the front of the unit. It cleared right up.
