Question about Canon Rebel XT / EOS 350D Digital Camera
Have always uploaded pics from rebel xti to laptop, till today... all of a sudden it has no clue my camera exists
1.As stated above... buy and use a card reader, is cheap and easy to work with.
2.Under the settings, on the camera, check the communication tab...you have: Normal and Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP).Depending on your computer configuration and OS (Mac, Microsoft, Linux) sometimes PTP is not fully integrated, or does not fully work, PTP is mainly designed to comunicate with "no host" devices, like printers.Try them both and see if makes a difference.
3.Update the firmware (follow the manual recommendations)

Do what the pros do...use a card reader.
